If you have carpets, you won't miss the castors anyway, you can just drag it across the carpet.
How thick is the plastic?
The plastic is not very thick. ie - not the thick outdoor storage boxes. Im using these ones to store clothes, books and shoes. Its made of polypropynene.
Does it have groves along the sides for suspension files?
There are grooves but pretty thick. I doubt they could fit suspension files. Interesting usage idea though.

it is quite a good price for something of that volume. i get a 55L storage box with wheels for $9 (2 for $18). can't expect very good quality for that price you're paying. i'm happy that it is a better/longer-lasting option for me to store my things in a cardboard box.
