Until you need something fixed… :D
Which happens about 10% of the time… :D
Then grab one from an aussie ebay supplier that will cover it for a year.
Third party repair not involving physical damage is usually under $150, and rarely happens outside of the first 6 months.
You cannot justify the extra $300 for 12 months more warranty.
For samsung edge phones 3rd party repairs are not under $150. More in the reigns of about $500. this is becuase 1. Samsung phones are extremely diffult to repair. and No.2 Samsung do not provide documentation to third parties as to how to repair their phones.
Thats why going directly to samsung australia to repair phones is your best bet. But Saumsung Australia do not touch grey imports even if you pay them. Its not about the warranty and if its not physical damage but a manufacturer defect, third parties wouldn't be able to do anything. Your only option is to send it back to your retailer and hope they send it back to samsung overseas to fix.
@ko0l: "not involving physical damage"
A cracked edge screen and/or glass is obviously trickier, but phone teardowns are done repeatedly in the first few months of launch then posted online, so it's very straight forward to understand how to disassemble and repair the phone.
Ensuring a quality part is the real challenge, and most places will let you inspect the part and see it in action before you commit.
I would agree with other brands, but Samsung service centres in australia do not touch grey imports at all, even if you want to pay them. If anything breaks like say a cracked screen then you are on your own. Last time the quotes I got to repair a cracked screen for a s7 edge was ~$500 from a third party repairer.
Someone knows the Note 8 will be out within a month.
But it would be really pricey when it first comes out.
and never know how good it is!
Grey import selling at only $749 now.
I personally would go with the cheaper one. Never in my life needed to get any electronic products fixed.
(This includes my AppleCare+ plan, totally a waste of my money)Coral blue coloured one is the same price but includes a samsung fast charge convertible wireless charger
bad design nonetheless:
fingerprint sensor in awkward position and essentially phone can't be unlocked wighiutbbeing picked up
bixby button is non functional still for Australia i believe?
Huh? Worth posting this at all? This is currently the best phone in the market.
No it's not.
That's a good point. Well said. Lol. No other phone looks as good, had as many features both suggested and hardware, and is at a good price.
A lot of other back fingerprint sensor can't be unlocked without picking up the phone.
You will get use to the position. But yes bad positioning most probably dictated by where there was space for it.
Fantastic price.
There is a coral blue version that comes with a charger for the same price which is better deal here

This same phone was $749 on here just yesterday. Aussie stock is overrated
