  • :( only 2.1, im looking for 5.1 for HTS

  • very good pricing.
Any one here used hyundai Speakers before?

  • would these be worth getting to use as home theatre speakers?

    specifically: Hyundai 6000W 2.1 Home Theatre Speakers with Sub-Woofer - Z-Series CINEMA21

    http://www.topbuy.com.au/tbcart/pc/Hyundai-6000W-2-1-Home-Th…

    • well you're only getting 2.1 plus its not 6000w - the specs say 60w continuous only (ok for a small room or if you dont like it loud) built in spks from tv is around 10-20w.

or you could get a real 5.1 setup for a few dollars more (either generic hyudai brand for $40-50 or a logitech x530 for $60-70)

the bass will be like a squirrel's fart.

ha - I dont think you'll be getting any doof doof for $50-60 dollars. But if you find the built in speakers a just slightly took weak, this is probably all thats needed.
I would say clarity though might be an issue (dodgy speakers = muddy sound)

  • I have a set of the Hyundai 6000W 2.1 Subwoofer Gaming Speakers Line Control - Z-Series 2700 in a jukebox project, and they work great. Paid $60 + shipping and thought that was a great deal.

  • How about this one—- Hyundai HY-Z-5100 Z Series 2800W (PMPO) 5.1 Surround Sound Speaker System - 5.25 inch Subwoofer & 2.5 inch Satellite Speakers with Remote Control for $59.5
    http://www.crazysales.com.au/hyundai-hy-z-5100-z-series-2800…

    or $10 cheaper on ebay
    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HYUNDAI-Z5100-5-1-2800W-SURROUND-COMP….
Can it be hooked up on LCD TV?

    • How about that one, compared to what? The sound from a $30 clock radio?

You asked "Can they be hooked up to a LCD TV?"…. yes, anything could be hooked up, but the TV is only 2 channel. You need a proper decoder to get surround sound, not just a set of speakers. And to listen to multiple sources (eg: music, TV, Foxtel, DVD, Blueray) you need some kind of device to switch between those sources, process the sound, and to do it properly also amplify it and then send it to a decent set of speakers.

These speakers are p-a-t-h-e-t-i-c. Any audio setup that advertises the peak output is not worth buying, no matter the price. I've never seen such a massive PMPO figure and such an outrageously low RMS figure. Put your dollars towards something decent, you'll be throwing these in the trash when you hear them.

I am absolutely stunned that anybody would even consider using such speakers for a "Home Theatre" ROFL!!

OK, let's think this out - we'll buy a really nice 42 or 47" flat screen, and make sure we focus on getting the very best refresh rate etc. Pay about $1000 for it. Then let's find the cheapest, nastiest set of amplified speakers that don't even have DTS or Dolby decoder and plug them into our $30 DVD player because it has 5.1 output.

Woo Hoo, we made an epic Home Theatre! :-D

    • +1

Can't agree more! Honestly, nobody should buy these. Heck, get the Logitechs. They would be heaps better.

6000W output even as PMPO sounds like the biggest pile of sh%t claim.

      • Yeah, but getting logitechs doesn't solve the problem of decoding the sound into 5.1 channels. These "toys" (including most of the logitechs too) are just computer speakers, they aren't designed for use in a proper Home Theatre.

        • +1

I know. I just mean you are probably better off buying Logitechs compared to these considering they are both 2.1. At least the Logitechs comes in 5.1 config too. I was simply comparing audio quality between the two, not commenting on their suitability as HT speakers.

If we go back to the discussion on HT speakers and receivers etc then we will just go over old territory that we both agree on anyway :)

You get what you pay for.
Entry level home theatre is around $1000 so you can only imagine what $60 is going to do for you. It's basically going to be the same as your TV speakers or marginally better.
That 6000w claim is rubbish. Even if it could reach 6000w (which it can't), I'm pretty sure your eardrums would burst along with everyone else's in the house. 150w is loud enough.

    • I just +'d you cause of your username.

With a name like Hyundai, you'd want it to be at least 95% off the regular price to make it a bargain.

  • I got the Hyundai 1800W 2.1 Speakers with Sub-Woofer - Z-Series 2100

    and I like them.

Go for Logitech or creative. Both are good and known brand.
