25% off Exide Advantage Batteries at Costco (Membership Required)

131

We've observed in the past that Costco car batteries are cheaper than sale prices at Supercheap Auto and Repco.

Now they're an additional 25% off.

If your battery is more than 3 years old it might be time for a replacement before it fails.

Stay safe and have fun

To note, any warranty you have is voided if you do not have a current membership.
Otherwise, if this has 3 years warranty and fails after 18 months and you bought membership just to buy it, you lose 18 months warranty.
    Costco are scum!

I don't think that would fly with the Australian Consumer Law.

"Your rights under the consumer guarantees do not have a specific expiry date"

Yeah that's what I thought, yet was advised that since it's a club and not a wholesale/retail store, there's different rules they're held to.

Learned the hard way and rather others not get burnt by their unsavoury practices.

    • Thanks for the info. I have something that I need to return, I'll renew my membership first.

      That is true sheep.

Warranty is provided by the manufacturer, not Costco. As for being scum, I think it is a pretty harsh word to use. The rules of membership are clear, so yeah, if you don't like it, don't choose to become a member.

      • Costco, as the agent selling the items, are legally obliged to represent the manufacturer upon behalf of the end user (There are a few exceptions, yet the majority of cases, they're legally obliged, well supposed to be).

I know it is a harsh word to utilise in describing a company and it comes from direct first hand experience.

They refused to action flat soft drink and refused to refund membership immediately after that, when I explained that if they don't stand by the products they sell, I want no part of their bullshit.

        • Which store was this?

I have cancelled membership twice, with no questions asked.

I have returned a few things basically because I didn't like them, opened/used/washed/non-resaleable, no questions asked.

Seems odd. Costco have a reputation for awesome returns policy.

          Risk-Free 100% Satisfaction Guarantee

We will refund your membership fee in full at any time is you are dissatisfied.

We guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell, and will refund your purchase price, with the following exceptions:
Diamonds, Watches, Special Orders, Hearing Aids

          Auburn/Lidcombe store in Sydney.

        • @086:

Yep I have cancelled membership there twice, no problem at all.

Car batteries are ridiculously cheap! I got one for $97 instead of $130… even that is cheap.. a branded battery was around $400 at supercheap.

Bought one for my other car without discount and it was at least $50 cheaper than the cheapest online store.. THat was the largest battery exide make as well.
I've been hanging out for this 25% off to buy another
