  • Same kind of screen as the 7" - but bigger?

    • Resolution is upgraded from 1024 x 600 -> 1280 x 800)

  • Going to wait for the plus version but this is a great price

    • If they'd only ever release it!

      Was released in Russia this week though…

  • Is there a new 7" model as well to supersede the tab3?

    • only the 8" and 10.1"

  • How does this compare to the old Nexus 7 tablets performance wise?

    • The Nexus 2013 would have a better GPU, so if you're a gamer you would want to stick with the Nexus 7.

      CPU performance I'm not quite sure of. Think they trade blows but the Snapdragon 425 may be more optimized.

      Recent China-tablets like Chuwi Hi8 Pro and Teclast X80 Power would blow these away though, since they run x86 Intel Atom Cherry Trail CPU's, which have extremely high compute performance, not to mention they can run Windows too.

      You would be looking at 'flagship' Snapdragon 801 levels of performance if you want a ARM-based equivalent.

      However, Snapdragon 800 series tablets are pretty rare, and are usually a few hundred dollars more than an entry level Intel-based tablet.

      • I had a Chuwi Hi8 Pro, biggest piece of junk ever. I returned it quick smart and got PayPal refund. Terrible battery life (under 2hrs), inconsistent touch screen, terrible audio, unusable camera. The only good thing was the HD screen.

      • Be careful of those that 'can run Windows too'. Sure it can…but because of the space needed to install 2 OSes, you might end up having nothing much left in the end. e.g. 16GB had only 2GB usable. (And SD cards can only help if they can be mounted as internal; the one I got and returned not long ago couldn't do it, for some reason.) Just make sure it either has massive internal memory, or I would probably prefer an Android-only one.

  • Im looking for a fast Android tablet without having to spend big on a galaxy tab pro s3. Any suggestions?

  • I need to spend about $305 at Lenovo to get $250 back with Amex by 15/9. Seems like only the Tab 4 8 and Tab 4 10 are available at $249 and $329 respectively. Neither have LTE only Wifi. So, it doesn't really meet the brief. Wondering if I should bite the bullet anyway or wait it out…?

    • Have you tried looking at Huawei Mediapad M3 LTE version? Discussion here

      • Thanks. Sounds like a good tablet but I was hoping to get an almost free tablet with the lenovo cashback deal with amex.
