624

Personal Vault Pro, a simple and intuitive password manager on sale [Free for limited time].

It is completely an offline app (with no internet permission required) and keeps all the data encrypted securely in Android database, based on the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), with you on your device. It provides a number of features allowing you to:

•Create master login account into the Vault. It will be your single login access to view and manage all your personal records and passwords.
•Create multiple master logins with individual password recovery options e.g. if you wish to manage your personal and official accounts separately or share your mobile with your family members. Each can have their own individual account.
•Dual login capability using password or PIN for quick and fast login.
•Easily categorize your records by creating a category including visual colour categorization and fast scroll.
•Create records by details like username, password, URL, notes and tags.
•Or rather create your own custom fields and sort fields in your favourite order by simple drag and drop.
•Define which fields can be copied or shared over messaging apps e.g. to share bank details, insurance details etc. with relevant people.
•Easy sort and search options in the records view.
•Delete and archive old records with a simple swipe.
•Single click backup and Restore functionality (managed via downloads folder).
•Share backup file over Dropbox, email etc and restore on another device across your Android devices or when you change your phone.
•Keep your records safe with you all the time and when you need them. And all your passwords and other sensitive details remain encrypted.

All information and all records are kept only with You, the rightful owner. Unfortunately there is no IOS or Windows compatible apps yet. Users can enjoy the app across Android Kitkat (API 19) and above devices.

This app is little over 3 months old and I am developing as my part time interest, so please provide your genuine comments. I am offering this for free for limited time. Enjoy!!

It sounds like you encrypted your username too

  • Have the nice men in suits from ASD (formerly DSD) knocked on your door with some "feature requests" yet?
If you have a gag order, just ignore this.

Would be nice if you had a website with a warrant canary.

What advantages/features does this have over something like Keepass, which is free?

  • +1

Sounds good. Would be good to have fingerprint security too! Will give it a go!

  • Why not, giving it a go :)

  • I'll try it out

  • +1

Lastpass is free too… You no longer need to pay to use Lastpass on mobile phones.

    • for how long, after doubling the premium fees for with no warning, you think they'll not change things with the free version?

      • They doubled fees and removed the need to buy it entirely, meaning power users pay more and the average user pays nothing.

  • +1

Yeah, nah. Just moved entire team to 1password.

    • 1Password did a great job at ransomwaring my credentials in their stupid app.

I had my details, bank, TFN etc. stored with 1Password, and one day they decide to change the model and they removed all the credentials because I didn't pay for 1Password.

I have never used a password vault. What is the guarantee that the passwords are safe? Just curious..

    • +1

Thats one of the benefits of Open Source projects, the code is openly available to be scrutinized and audited.

      • +1

yes.. but how many of us can do that :) ?

        • +6

I just open the github page and hit "ctrl F" and type in "NSA" d:

If I dont get any hits in the code, thats good enough for me d:

        • +1

@meatgasm: haha.. So easy to scrutinize and audit.. :D

        • Just because you cant doesn't other people don't check the code and kick up a fuss if anything is wrong.

Much better then disclosing all my passwords to a closed source app with less then 50 installs, haha no way in the world!

        • @LowRange: LowRange. don't, doesn't, can't go that low..

  • +1

Not many installs or reviews. Did you get your mates to review it? :)

  • I'll download for possible use later but how do I know I can trust an app that's so NEW

  • I'm wondering how people could trust their credentials to a third party app.

  • +14

    Hey mate,
    I just saw your app,
first of all, all your "reviews" are from people with the surname "Jane" and the only proper review (worded) is negative.
If you are creating a password bank, why use fake reviews? For me that there is a major red flag🚩 If you lie about reviews, what else can we expect in the future? Password banks are all about trust.

Better alternatives like KeePass which is free and open source or pay a nominal amount for 1password or lastpass which are way more trust worthy…

But anyways thanks for your post…

    Reason for Negative vote-

    • Major issue with retailer.

    • Cheaper alternative elsewhere.

    • +2

This should really be higher up, as the app seems really suspect when you take all that into account.
I'd also recommend the Keepass & Keepass2Android combo.

      • +1

        EDIT
        Reason for negative vote:
        - multiple suspect reviews as mentioned above (even worse when you consider the app in question stores highly sensitive & personal data)

    • +1

+1 this is a major concern, stick to the mainstream well reviewed and secured password managers

    • It's seems to be his parents and brother, so biased most likely but that's not faking reviews.

Probably not the best idea but understandable, now I wouldn't spend time filling a password manager which seems to be the dude's first app because he could get bored of it and stop development and because it's certainly not the safest.

      • Might not be 'fake' per se, but it's also not what i'd call a legitimate review.
It would be like car salesman 'reviewing' the cars they sell, they'd never find anything negative about it.
And it says something that the only 'non-family member' review has given it only 1 star.

As i mentioned, for something that's meant to store your sensitive data, you'd want to be able to trust the app/dev, and those 'reviews' don't inspire trust or confidence.

The developer says "over 100 installs" sure everyone has to start somewhere but I'd call anyone trusting their information to an application like this a fool, for many reasons.

As others have said, use Lastpass or Keepass.

  • Well it doesn't have access to internet/wifi, as its totally offline, I guess you can try it out and not worry any info is going to get sent anywhere.

Will try it out and see how it goes, and keep an eye out if any internet permissions are added in the future….

    • And what about if the app suddenly stops working and you lose access to all your accounts?

    • So whats the difference between that and any other offline app, if they suddenly stop working, do you lose access?

      I'm sure there's a backup function?
