Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming OC 11GB - $999 (8PM - 9PM, Only 10 Available, Limit 1 Per Customer) @ Shopping Express

100

Got this in the email, great price for the OC version of the card, not the founders edition. I'd grab one if I didn't already have a 1080.

What a joke and its not even that great of a price as you can get one from newegg or amazon for cheaper

      • +1

a joke?? you can get this card for a whopping $70 cheaper through amazon. No local warranty with Amazon so you will have return shipping back to them at your cost should something happen to it.
Would rather pay the $70 for piece of mind..
Plus its $150 cheaper than any other retailer in aus for this card.
So no its not a joke

        • +6

TBH I'd rather deal with Amazon than this mob (speaking from experience).

        • +3

Still a joke, if you purchase EVGA you're covered by international warranty. On the off chance that it does somehow die use that $70 to send it back?

And What piece of mind are you talking about? A quick browse through their reviews suggest their customer support is terrible

        • @GossipGoat: This isnt a EVGA card so has absolutely nothing to do with this, but sure lets check that out, cheapest on amazon landed in Aus is over $1000 so you will be due to pay gst on arrival, great deal.
Im guessing you have never shipped anything to the states? You will need more than that $70 for return shipping lol.
Anyways im out. Was merely stating this deal isnt that bad. And no ive never used shopping express and don't intend too.

@garvani: Lol What even… First of all I mentioned Evga because if you're so concerned about having to return stuff to amazon you can deal directly with Evga as it is covered by international warranty.

Secondly yes the price on Amazon fluctuates daily, but you can easily find one for under $1k if you keep checking heck even newegg has them express shipped for less than $1k.

And finally if they are only offering 10 units at a price that isnt something to write home about its a pretty terrible deal especially considering who the vendor is

So whats the big deal then?

It's an OK price, not a bargain in my opinion. I'm looking at a 1080 Ti but not at $1000

    I'll keep being patient

Yes you will have to be patient. These prices arent going to move greatly for some time. AMD's vega was a flop and Nvidias next generation doesnt come out until March, so have fun waiting until then ;)

      • Are you a wizard? How can a product whose review embargo hasnt lifted let alone released flop?

        • What are you talking about, do some research, there are plenty of reviewers with the cards and early benchmarks are out that paint a very good picture of performance: https://videocardz.com/71771/final-radeon-rx-vega-64-3dmark-…

And also whilst im posting links, heres the Nvidia ceo alluding to no Volta until next year "Volta for gaming, we haven’t announced anything. And all I can say is that our pipeline is filled with some exciting new toys for the gamers, and we have some really exciting new technology to offer them in the pipeline. But for the holiday season for the foreseeable future, I think Pascal is just unbeatable. It’s just the best thing out there. And everybody who’s looking forward to playing Call of Duty or Destiny 2, if they don’t already have one, should run out and get themselves a Pascal." https://seekingalpha.com/article/4097782-nvidia-nvda-q2-2018…

Loving the negs for speaking the truth :D

    • No big deal, but it is a deal. StaticIce has them for well over $1,100. It looked like a bargain to me.

      • Well just have to agree to disagree, as I don't think its an absolute Ozbargain.

Besides, only 10 available, there may be disappoint if you enough people are prepared to pay this price.

        I'll be patient.
