Unfortunately, Its not an instant restaurant / pizza, where you can order and get it in 15 minutes. Hence listed in Groceries section.

    Add from below
    EXTRA SALT $0.10
    1unit = 1 gram, 10 cents each extra serve

    That's $100/kg for salt !!!

    • To add extra salt or butter or any spice, we have to do it specially, not in our normal mode of operation. Which involves stopping of our normal production process and specially do it for you. So it involves cost. And hence charging extra for extra spices. Our standard serving of salt is generally enough for a cup. Thanks.

      • -2

we have to do it specially,

So you hire a specialist to add salt ?

        • +3

Sorry, I think you didn't understand. We have automated set line, where everything gets added in the process, when we make those flavoured cups. And if we have to add anything extras, then we have to do it separately. Not in our normal mode of production operation. Hope this explanation helps you. Thanks.

          @vid_ghost:

I think a better way of explaining it is: JV is the resident Ozbargain "special needs" person, otherwise known as the retard.

I hope the fish & chips shops don't get a hold of this practice…

  • They have a Vegan flavour too

    https://www.countrycorn.com.au/products-menu/

What does a Vegan taste like ? Chicken ???

    • For Vegan - we use Nuttelex Butter.

      • Nuttelex Butter.

Nuttelex Butter isn't a 'Vegan flavour', it tastes like margarine.

        • +2

Nuttelex is plant based butter. Its Vegan. Please google for more information. An alternative to dairy butter/product.

It's not a butter, it is a margarine.

      Fresh corn is delicious too…

    • +1

Agree. It came personally delivered too.

For $1.25 delivered it's a no-brainer to pick this over going down to the local for a bag of fried stuff.

JV stop busting the ops balls. Far out

    • Oh no! Please protect the poor merchant flogging their wares on a free bargain site! However will they cope! Heaven forbid they become subject to some gentle trolling!

      Far out.

Thanks for posting OP. This isn't the sort of thing that usually gets a lot of traction here but appreciate the information and the offer.

The name OzBargain is misleading, this is actually a support group for people that were left undiagnosed through the 80s, 90s, 00s; bullied, home schooled and now completely unable to function in society. JV is our most special brother and probably a decent person in his own twisted way. The bargains are really just PCIe graphics cards and fidget spinners.

Scotty offered me medication and counselling by Tightarse.

  • OP, quick question. What is a cup of corn equivalent to in terms of a cob of corn? Comparing to say the fresh corn you see in woollies or coles, is a cup of corn equivalent to 1/2, 1, 2, 3 cobs of corn?

    • 1 cup of corn average is equivalent to 1-1.25 cobs. They are fresh Frozen. And are Whole Kernels as compared to big brands cut kernels. Hence taste very different to canned or other Frozen Kernels. Give it a try & you will notice the difference. Thanks.

      • So its all in how the kernels are removed from the cob? How do you remove the kernel to retain the whole thing?

    • As our kernels are Whole Kernels, they retain the health benefits, vitamins, nutrition & are naturally sweet.

  • OP, I am genuinely curious, how does your product compare to say the steam-in-bag or frozen supermarket varietals, which are arguably more easily obtainable to most and don't require having to lodge a separate order for what is a relatively insignificant product, compared to say, steak or milk or bread?

    • Please read above reply to BlinkyBill comments. In continuation to that - 66% of Australians DO NOT meet minimum Vegetable intake requirement of our Daily Diet. For many reasons. Regardless of convenient it is to buy from Woolys n Coles. Most vulnerable are ages from 4 till 50.

We have Oily fries every where - Fish n Chips, burger with chips, Kebabz with chips, dine in restaurant has Chips / wedges too in kids Menu. That's marketed always.
So Corn is just the beginning, to introduce healthy replacement.
Hope that answers your Query. Thanks.

      • No, absolutely it did not, all you provided was a rant about fast food, and I don't for a second believe you're in the corn business ¯_(ツ)_/¯ out of some altruistic quest to improve public health…

        • Spreading an awareness is the main objective. anyway, would be more than happy to explain in detail, if you wish. Feel free to email [email protected] Thanks

        • @countrycorn:

Why not post here for the benefit of all Ozbargain users?

      • Just Curious, have you looked into dehydrated corn (no refrigeration needed)?

It is an interesting business idea, I hope you get a return on your investment, but I get the feeling there isn't a perceived need

Corn isn't really considered a 'health' food even though it is technically a vegetable. The market you are targeting- heath conscious and time poor (but not money poor) would not be rushing to buy what is essentially empty carbs.

You should look into packaging superfoods - kale, moringa, garlic etc

        • When I was travelling in Malaysia a few years back I remember stopping at a roadside stall and getting a cup of corn, it seemed like the least likely thing to give me the trots, sadly it was frozen and I noticed some ice around it just before they heated it up for me… a few hours later I wished I had chosen the chicken.

Long story short though, I think that corn in a cup is a popular quick snack in some parts of Asia, and maybe they are testing the market to see if it will take off here in Oz as well.

        • @Gravy: Corn in general is one of the most loved vegetable in the world, regardless of which Country you are from. And more healthier - as you are eating it steamed. Specially Whole Kernels.

        • Would be happy to chat with you business. If interested feel free to email [email protected]

  • How much freezer space do I need for $30 worth of $1.25 corn cups?

    • +2

Just the corner of the freezer:)

    • In $15 (after discount) you will get 12 cups. I could give you space volume-but it wont help you to get an idea. So, best way, I will try - regular coffee cup size (8ounces) x 12. That much space. You can keep in fridge, but have to consume in 2-3 days. Thanks.
