iPad Pro 10.5" 256GB Wi-Fi $999.20 Ausluck eBay Space Grey ($885.65 Ex GST)

Hi all, last day for "PLAYER" 20% off. This is an OK deal for most of you I would presume. At first, the above RRP $1249 looks like an annoying price-jacked price during an eBay deal (RRP $1129). At 20% off this is an OK price of $999.20, a $130 saving on RRP.

However this is Aussie stock, not a grey import, and for some of you (and me) the GST can be claimed and only the exGST price needs to be paid. The great thing about this deal is that the Tax Invoice lists the price as $1249 (not $999.20) and the GST on $1249 is $113.55 (rather than $90.84 GST on $999.20). That means if you can claim the GST back, the real cost to you (and me) is $999.20 - $113.55 = $885.65 ex GST

That's cheaper than the entry level 64GB iPad Pro 10.5" ($979 inc GST, $890 ex GST) which makes it a great deal in my book. It's also cheaper than any grey imports I could find, even when including the 20% off.

Seems like a no-brainer if you're already interested in getting the new 10.5" Ipad Pro and can go the ExGST route. Enjoy!

FWIW, I also used cashrewards for the order (makes it $869.42), and for ordering the Apple pencil (official Apple store $145 - 1.5%CR - $13.18 GST = $129.64). That makes the total under $1000 for both the 256GB iPad Pro 10.5" and the Apple Pencil. Win!

  • Good find. No 4G models unfortunately

  • How you get it without “paying” gst? Is your calculation based on the gst you can claim back or you use ABN number etc to pay price less GST?

    • I think he is referring to TRS, tourist refund scheme if you travel overseas.

    • In my case, it's going to be salary sacrificed. Salary sacrificed items exclude GST.

I know that some business purchases can be made for the price less GST, or at least they can claim back the GST. I'm not up with all the details on this, any business owners can chime in.

Also, when travelling you can claim back the GST. Check into the rules, there's something about a $1000 limit. Maybe that's when bringing goods into the country? This one could be dicey as the invoice is for more than $1000, even though less than $1000 was paid. I'd be trying to show a bank or credit card statement with $999.20 on it.

  • Make sure your PayPal is under your exact name as your passport. Since the invoice will be over $1000 TRS requires the name on the tax invoice to match exactly as it is on your passport. Most if not all sellers are reluctant to manually change the invoice as it may count as fraud.

  • Good deal, but there's only one left?

  • if i have no intention going aboard, there is no way i can get TRS right?(or i shouldn't even think about it)

  • Btw if you wanted to get just the Apple pencil in stores, the guy at JB Hifi seemed happy to give it to me for $135. ($127.73 if you can get the GST back)

    • Oh, this is good to know, but too late. My pencil has shipped and will arrive tomorrow. Unless I return and refund, then try JB?
