I bought from them the seller last sale. just to let everyone know I got a phone box that was opened, they have their own seals with the same writing as the original seal sticker and they place it on top.
If you're happy with that then that's fine.

I'm assuming they do this to insert an Aus power adapter or something similar?

      • nope, au adaptor is international conversion white plug which is non usb and out side the box. mobile box was also not sealed with plastic wrapper

    • +2

They do this to reset the phone with English as the default is in their language.

    • I bought from them also, my box was unopened

      • +1

I bought one from previous sale and box was un-opened but it was $663 after 15% ebay discount.

These phones require a 5 minute call with a SIM card from the original region before they're unlocked, e.g. https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/help/samsung-s8-g…

So it's probably opened to unlock it.

      • it's Taiwan firmware I thought only applied to Europe.

        • Maybe… I think I remember seeing the sticker on one of these but I could just be imagining things.

    • Can confirm this was the case with mine as well. Phone appears unused and brand new otherwise.

Better off with the G6 for $470.. Had the s8 but it's overrated. Dual camera on the G6 is amazing also

  • I do love my S8 but the first one was faulty and the battery on the new is starting to drain quickly after only 6 weeks. So much for the battery keeping 95% capacity after 2 years.

    • Did you buy from this store?

  • I got my S8 from this store in June my box was sealed. Received it in three days via DHL from Taiwan. So far so good.

    • Are we talking original seal or you're not sure?

The first comment also suggests that its sealed, but actually re-sealed over the top of the original, so two seals.

      • if u read their fine print on ebay, it says sealed but can be different from manufacturer seal.

        • +1

Yeah, I read it before. I read the fine print :)

Brand New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging (where packaging is applicable). Packaging should be the same as what is available in a retail store, unless the item was packaged by the manufacturer in non-retail packaging, such as an unprinted box or plastic bag. See the seller's listing for full details.

          Unopened is stretching it

Just be aware there is NO warranty if anything goes wrong. I have a very horrible experience of shoppingdaily.com I have what looks like a brand new phone but useless!

    • does anyone actuslly know their warranty address and if we can just drive to there?
All that's been quoted is Sydney, where exactly is it?

      • Send an eBay message to ask them.

        • i did. nothing has been done except they said they will follow up and could ban them in the future????

      • no they are from overseas. buyers beware!

    • +1

My experience with qd au is very good. Good communication. Refund the purchase cost and pay for the return postage.

    • +1

QD have a good reputation for warranty and returns on OzBargain, probably one of the best out of the HK importers.

Also I bought a G6 and S8 from their EOFY deal and both arrived sealed and brand new. No need to panic.

      • I did until I was hit with an unscrupulous seller like shoppingdaily.com They won't respond to any communication. Tried ACCC, also no luck!

    • What has your experience with shoppingdaily got to do with this deal sold through QD_Au?

QD_AU has a good reputation for warranty issues, I've experienced it myself personally.

  • Can someone pls help to choose- S8 vs S8+ vs Lg g6 vs Huawei p9+.. thanks

    • G6

    • depends on the price you could get
If s8 are beyond 700 and I would buy a G6 which is easily below 500
But if S8 are below 650 or even less……

The Samsung dual sims only do 2G on the second sim, even though the chipset is capable of 3G on the 2nd sim. I hate when things get crippled like that.

    • Are you sure about this? My S7 can do 3G on the second sim.

    • SIM Dual Nano-SIM (4G + 3G)

  • Just pulled the trigger on the Samsung S8 from these guys and can say they are quick. order placed on Friday even and I received a DHL confirmation the item has been posted today. Can't wait to get my hands on my new toy! Keep up the good work QD!

  • Keen on one of these, but i'm not overly keen on the edge screens, mostly because it would make replacing a broken one more expensive. Any idea how easily the screens crack on the s8+ ?

Just remember the warranty issue! I have experienced very very bad experience with shoppingdaily.com Phone died after 6 months. Nobody wants to know you…………

  • Just be aware you could be dealing with another shoppingdaily.com

  • how do these grey sellers make money, anyone thought how they get the phones at low cost

    • Because australia tax. Not saying brick and mortar stores here match online retailers dollar for dollar but aleast bridge the gap between local stock and grey stock.
