ALDI, Kettlebells 12kg $9.99, 16kg $14.99

220

They were special buys a month ago, original prices $24.99 and $34.99. I've been waiting for Aldi to drop prices, cause seen quite a lot of still in stock. And finally seen today in DFO Moorabbin Aldi, $9.99 and $14.99 respectively, which is quite a nice price for kettlebells.

          @Gimli:

My Kettle bells can weigh either 12 or 16kg, depending on what i eat for the week:)!haha'

          Are you my twin?

Seriously though almost all of my comments are jokes and other rubbish, but then sometimes I get a down vote for a reasonable/sensible question, go figure lol.

It doesn't really worry me now, I have depression and when I joined getting a down vote or nasty comment was really a big deal it would make me much more depressed, now I see therapist and am on meds, it's no biggie 1/5 suffer from a mental illness or will?
So I try to be accommodating to newbies, cause like me they could be suffering from depression and have joined in the hopes of making friends or just to have some human communication.

      • Have some up votes.

There seem to be a few of those stalkers around Ozbargain, I was stalking recently but only up voting😜.

Kettlebbells got centre of mass slightly in a different place which makes exercises slightly more challenging. Plus kettlebells allow to effectively combine strength and cardio exercises.
Kettlebells should be just a part of iron zoo, which should include barbells, dumbbells and kettlebells :-)

    • +5

They are more useful for dynamic exercises like kettlebell swings. Upvoted to offset the haters.

just google kettlebell swings. I do this for mountain biking fitness and is one of the best exercises for this sport. Dead lifts really helpful but with 1 kettlebell you hardly need to go to the gym

      • +1

        interesting. did google it briefly.
May get some. Not sure if I will have time to use it though!

        • that's the great thing about them… Can do it for a couple of minutes each day and it does make a difference,,,,just pop outside and swing away

Great for core strength and back problems too

@slipperypete: was thinking about it too strengthen back

oh I thought this was going to be chips

    • I was think it was going to be chips too :(, or something to do with kitchen kettles.

  • The stuff that sells at different Aldi's is interesting. I went to an Aldi recently in a country area and they still had loads of the ski gear.

    • Did you by any chance see a wooden toy market stand by any chance? Lol I went to 4 stores and they had all sold out in first few hrs :(

      • Can't say I did. I imagine toys sell pretty well everywhere. All those wooden toys did look good in the catalogue.

        • Yep, they are great!!! I got everything but the stand so nowhere for my son to put everything on LOL

        • @KupoHo:

Supposedly you can call the main number and they can check stock… they never used to do this … was on an aldi add somewhere… not checked if it correct.

        • @akoli:

I did the next day (as they don't check stock levels for special buy items on the actual day) and she said..sold out in WA :(

What was more depressing was each store I went into I saw someone buying it and got super excited…only to realise they must have gotten the last one…and had I only visited that store first :~(

He has a cardboard box as a makeshift until I find a suitable replacement haha

    • Sound like a store manager didn't properly profile his target market :P

    • I was at Aldi Kilburn today, they had bread makers, ovens and a toilet.
Aldi sure sells a diverse range of stuff.

  • My local aldi are tight arses .. they rarely lower prices and if so its by a few dollars and months after its been on special when the boxes are wrecked and or missing bits… couple a bit further out are pretty good its surprising what different things each have left given their within 10k of each other.

My local aldi are tight arses

      Do they give you Cashrewards?

      • Not a single TA promo code either… might need OZB tightarse to have a word.

It's a good deal, but is this at all stores or just Moorabbin?

    • yes, is there much stock left? no other weights?

      • +1

There were only 12kg and 16kg available a month ago. Moorabbin store had around a dozen each.

        • oh ok thanks

    • +1

Usually all stores got the same clearance price (if they got stock).

  • Nationwide???

    • Not in Gawler SA.
$24.99 and $15.99, and the manager wasn't going to budge. She did say that managers have discretion to reduce prices to clear out the last of old stock. But she didn't want to.

I just use those 10 litre water casks myself. Much cheaper at $4 each.

  • 10+ at ALDI Waverley Gardens.

It would make more sense for these to contain lead than their kitchen tap set lol

My Grandmother told me to never talk about anyone's kettlebells:)

  • I thought kettles had whistles?

    • My Breville kettle has a bell, it's actually annoying because when you move it the bell rattles a bit.

  • I hope they have these in stock. I'd hate to have to weight.

    • That would be an exercise in frustration and you'd feel like a dumbbell.

  • Pretty sure the Aldi Kettlebells are rubbish concrete ones - no where near as compact as the metal ones from other suppliers.

I could be wrong about that. Anyway, if you want to try kettlebells, get metal ones.

    • I'd also suggest ones that are all the same size. Cheap ones the lighter ones are smaller.

    • Those two are cast iron as far as I understand. I've got 16kg from couple of years back and, yeah, it's big :-)

      • Well, here's a clue.

A solid iron sphere 160mm diameter will weigh 16.6kg.

If the kettle bell is much bigger than that, then it is NOT solid iron.

    • Can you get metal ones for $10?

  • None available at Aldi Maribyrnong, VIC.

A few 16kg at Heidelberg West, VIC.
