Coles Fuel Discount Offer When You Purchase Any Coles Car Insurance Cover

90

We managed to save over $400 compared to our RACV renewal with this Coles insurance. Others have reported similar savings. This is before the 12c a litre fuel savings.
There is a simple page where you just have to enter the very basic details, and it gives you the rough quote straight away. Its not like others where they want to know your whole life story before landing you with a shocking quote. (the quote gets adjusted afterwards in real-time as you enter the more detailed stuff)

Same as the previous expired deal… http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/29783
Though I can't find an expiry date on this one.

I got a great quote from these guys for our main car, and I already saved just over $10 on my first monthly fill!
So I'm signing up with our other car as well.

From the website…

Savings that last all year

With Coles Car Insurance you'll save on fuel all year long. Once a month for a year, we'll triple the value of your standard 4c Coles fuel discount.

It's an exclusive offer available only to Coles Insurance customers.

Save 12c per litre on fuel

Here's how it works:

When you purchase Coles Car Insurance, we'll send you 12 fuel discount vouchers
Once a month, when you fill your car up, use the voucher together with your standard 4c Coles fuel discount receipt
You'll then save 12c a litre on your fuel purchase

Limit one voucher per fuel purchase up to 150 litres per vehicle per customer. Cannot be used in isolation or with Fleetcard, Motorpass or Motorcharge purchases.

  • As an example:

Our car takes around 85l to fill. So the full saving per fill is…
    $0.12*85= $10.20
if you subtract your normal coles saving of $0.04 you are left with…
    $6.80 per fill. Times 12 months is…
$81.60. So thats the extra saving per year over and above what we would normally get.

So keep that in consideration when you get a quote.

Coles are over 30% cheaper than our previous RACV insurance, even before the fuel savings, so its a no brainer for me. And yes, they were also the cheapest I could find.

No idea what the claims process is like though, hopefully won't find out either!

  • Coles do car insurance….. what next…. plumbing services

    • Yeah we've been through all this already… http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/29783

      This one was the best…

Will the Insurance be marked down if I go there near end of trading?

BTW Coles etc are about 10 years behind their UK counterparts, so the jokes are very tired for some of us by now.

  • Good deal if Coles insurance works out cheaper for you. I just got a quote and its $80 more than AAMI for me.

  • Almost $600-700 cheaper for me, will definitely be thinking about them when it's time for renewal.

    • I ran my details through - at the beginning it was like half price, however upon refining the quote with excess, agreed value, windscreen cover and hire car (I have all of these with my insurance), it came to around $78 dollars less (about 11%).

However, I know how the claim works with my current insurer (has been painless), not sure what it would be like with Coles and if it is worth the switch?

  • My quote was over 300 less than Boo-jay. Signed up straight away

  • +4

I got my RACQ renewal yesterday. This insurance is about $85 cheaper.

I'm reading through the product disclosure. Grocery replacement: "We will pay for the costs of replacing your groceries if they are stolen from your securely locked car." I expected a clause saying it excluses Woolworths groceries.

  • I would consider it if they do CTP.

  • I have signed up with Coles insurance (comprehensive car insurance)
…All through online - didn't (or need to) speak with any real person
Received all papers in 2 working days with 12 coupons for the fuel discount. Used one without any issue (note. you need the normal 4c off voucher so require to spend at least $30 from Coles)

Cannot judge the insurance without making a claim (hopefully I don't have to in near future). But expectation will be higher as its covered by Westfarmars, the biggest insurance in OZ.

I have done bit research while doing my insurance…Quotes received as follows (for rating 1 in Brisbane, access fee is $600)

    NRMA - $600+
    AAMI - $500+
    Coles - $410

The other cheaper option would be Kmart insurance but prefer Coles…

  • I am just not sure, but can i get my Green Slip with them… thats my CTP right?

  • I shoped around for my two cars, coles is the cheapest. Will sign it up as Coles is a good brand… hopefully no claim
