If anyone is looking for a DAB upgrade to their car head unit with the addition of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, this is one of the most popular options out there.
A lot of shops would be able to perform installation and all the necessary converters (steering wheel controls, cameras and fascia kit) for an additional $200-$350. Or you can buy the kit and fascia package from Ryda.
For those that are interested in DIY installation and looking for a reference of the fascia kit + converters that are available, check the following shops which can usually install them for you if you BYO head unit:

If you're just looking for Android Auto and CarPlay, you can just get Kenwood DMX-7017BTS for $523:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kenwood-DMX-7017BTS-Car-Multimedi…
The 7017 doesn't have DAB and also lost its mechanical drive (no CD/DVD) and it comes with resistive touch screens instead of the capacitive on the 9017.
EDIT: I forgot to add, if anyone is interested, 9017 comes with WIFI mirroring. On Android, it allows the touch screen to be controlled with the Kenwood Android app, but not on iOS. But at least with iOS you can use Google Maps instead of the default Apple Maps with CarPlay.
Just bought Sony XAV-AX100 using this eBay deal for $519 with CarPlay, thanks op.
