And the A$1,749 is crossed out as if it was a price drop!! What a joke!!!
It is almost twice the price as it is in the US!!!!
Bill — we are indeed living in a country where gadgets and computers are expensive, especially considering AUD$ is already so high against USD$.
However Bill, the import tax after X-amount can actually add up once it has hit the shore. Also there there is an issue with warranty, as product purchased from overseas may not be covered locally in Aus. Finally the shipping cost and the time factor it takes to arrive here.
As of shipping — most Australian Dells are shipped from Singapore, although many of them are manufactured in Malaysia. However my Malaysian friends said it is more expensive to get a Dell in MY than in SG. And it is more expensive in SG than in US!
Very nice! 1.6Ghz T2060 is about 1 year old though, but 6400 is surely a beautiful machine for its price (my brother got one).
