Any deals for the batteries themselves?

    • Came here to see the same thing. Got all the tools, just want some 4.0 batteries. The 2.0 ones don't last long on the 1/2 drive rattle gun :D

  • Are these compatible with the normal Ozito 18v batteries? Wouldn't mind the drill driver

    • +3

Nope. Whats "normal" anyway? Bastards keep changing the connector so you have to buy new everything.
Does not fit my 18V Ozito batteries. Not without paper clips and duct tape.

      • that's not really reassuring… might as well pay abit more and get ryobi. I get what you pay for.

        • +4

Why do YOU get what I pay for? Seems unfair

        • -1

might as well pay abit more and get ryobi.
I have Ryobi. And Bosch. And Makita. All 18V and none interchangable :-(

The Reciprocating Saw has been $49 for several months.

  • +2

Not really a deal. As PJC says a lot of those prices are their normal price. The Recip Saw, Circular Saw, Pruning Saw, etc. I wouldn't just go listing all their range in this post because it makes them look on special when they aren't. (As always best bet is to check against Price Hipster too).

But I do agree when Aldi has tools on sale it's a good time to watch for Bunnings matches, but your best bet is to pop into your local Bunnings for local discounts/matching the store has.
(e.g. I got my Circular saw kit for $99 during the last Aldi sale, but it wasn't from my local Bunnings right across the road from Aldi funnily enough which kept it at normal price)

I only included those as the battery is interchangeable with all tools. Items in the title are reduced.

      • The 4.0Ah battery price has increased from $65 to $75 and the 3.0Ah is a newcomer to the range.

        • +1

The 3.0Ah actually preceded the 4.0Ah

        • +1

          @tryagain:
Makes sense since it looks like they are both 2x5S, so the 3Ah is made up of 10 1500mAh cells compared to 2000mAh cells in the 4.0Ah.

        • @tryagain: I never saw that in my local branch, where the 4.0Ah was $65.00 since last year.

        • +1

@PJC: I got the drill/driver/grinder combo when they first came out, at that point in time the two options were 1.5Ah and 3Ah then as rhangman says above the same physical size were superceded by 2Ah and 4Ah. Now they seem to have bought back the 3Ah back as well.

        • Interesting. I never checked as such (never check batteries on their own), but I'm surprised they want $65 for the 3.0Ah battery. My circ saw kit came with the 3Ah battery + charger. Ofcourse probably just a deliberate way to get people to do the no-brainer of paying an extra $10 for 4Ah now.

        • @tryagain: Fair enough. I have only been looking since I missed out on the Triton reciprocating saw at Masters last year.

      • Perhaps make 2 section headings: Reduced & Regular price

    • I got lucky last month. They were clearing out a box containing the fast charger, 4.0Ah battery, 2.0Ah battery, long cordless blower (there is a compact one) and also cordless hedge trimmer for $100. I told my wife that was her birthday gift to me. There was only 1 more box so I couldn't post it here.

edit: I've just found it here at $199 https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-power-x-change-18v-blower-…

  • Aldi tools are much better

    • +1

Have you tried the power x change ones? they are actually rebadged Einhell products and in my experience far superior to the Aldi tool's I have had, not only that but you can always pop down to Bunnings to get a new tool/battery when needed which you can't do with Aldi. Aldi I would say at best is on par with the usual Ozito range which is a definite step below these.

      • Funny you should recognise the link between ozito power x change tools and einhell when many of the saws in aldi are also re-branded einhell tools as well. Seems they share the same bulk purchasing officier.

        • From what I have heard Einhell actually bought Ozito in order to get access to the Bunnings Market.

          http://news.eisenwarenmesse.de/en/2013/06/einhell-buys-ozito…

I wouldn't be surprised to hear they also make for ALDI, I knew someone who was rather high up in ALDI in their early days in Aus and they had a number of big name companies making their products who weren't supposed to be named as they were made to a price.

  • But no price match on Ryobi One+ range?

  • +2

We use this brand at a work-for-the-dole workshop I go to. I was thinking just today if the gear can handle a bunch of bored unskilled blokes treating them badly day after day they must be pretty good!

  • Brushless drill driver skin was $79 over the weekend and reduced to $49. To me that was enough of a deal to go in and pick one up with a 4ah battery + fast charger.
