  • is this one able to use it as fast charging adapter ?

    • I assume you are referring to Qualcomm Quick Charge technique.
It actually depending on the cable you attach it to.
The adapter itself don't change anything except the connection.
To be able to use fast charging, you need all three parts working together:
Your device, the power source, and the connecting cable.
Usually, if your device is QC compatible, the charging cable that comes with it must be QC compatible.
Here is a list of QC compatible devices:

The link you provided is Y-3026RG.
          They are different model.
          It's like iPhone 5S and 5C.
Quite different for what's inside :\

        • @mushtato: Don't see any difference in the description though. And I know 5s is very different from 5c.

I've purchased two Orico 2.5" USB adapters that looks like this one in the past, they would never work with a mechanical drive, only with SSD. It appeared to not supply enough power to the drive for them to spin up. Hopefully these don't suffer the same issue.

    • Problem might be the cable or the USB socket you plugged it into.

      • Yea, I tried plugging into heaps of different machines, and I purchased two of the SATA>USB adapters and both had the issue. Maybe I was just unlucky and got two faulty units…

product couldn't be found…. when clicking on the links

  • Sorry everyone.

The ORICO 2569S3 still in stock:
    http://www.mushtato.com.au/orico-2569s3-2-5-sata-ssd-hdd-usb…
    It's a upgrade version of ORICO 2599US3.

    • What do you mean by "upgrade version"?

Also what chipset does it have?

  • Rep, do you know if you have any enclosures which will house a 14.8mm 2.5" drive?

    • I haven't actually got one to play with.
Have you checked it's casing and see if it can be modified?
If so, you can change its size or even pins.
All other models can be adjusted.
Not sure about the one you are talking about.

      • I have the drive (enclosure was damaged (but still functional)), it's out of a 4TB Seagate Backup Plus portable. I've not seen many external enclosures which support this thickness, though (most support up to 12.5mm).
        It measures 14.8-15mm with callipers.

        • I've found some images of this drive.
It looks like it has a second casing inside the outer case.
          That causes the extra thickness.
Can't see how they are attached together.
Could be soldered or simply by screws.
My suggestion is don't risk to pull it apart without any experience.
You might damage it without knowing.
Bad news is for that thickness, you can't use any standard 2.5" enclosure, unless it's custom made :\
E.g. a 3.5" enclosure modified to fit it in

        • @mushtato: rep, any more stock coming soon?

        • @mushtato:

Store Rep. As per my previous query:-

What do you mean by "upgrade version" and what is the chipset?

        • @Binaryboy: Aluminum case + ASM 1153E chipset :)

        • @pitiek: These are last stock we have for this product at the moment.
We've already sent request to our oversea office.
They should be able to get more stock in few weeks.
