A Hyundai Excel does not a rally car make!

my mate did one in an evo and wrx even then he was very much less than impressed, the cars where detuned, was a tiny circuit, one of those events for newbies, (eg girls that just got there licenses that want to go crazy)
he was pretty disappointed after it. if your an experienced driver, this defiantly wouldn't be enough. you'd want an all day event in much better cars.

he ended up complaining and got another 4 laps.. (12 laps total) where they let him go a little faster but still not overly impressive.

email from a mate: (in regards to one of the other places)
Uptight instructors, poorly maintained tyres and underpowered cars (they said they’re full group-b spec EVO’s and STI’s but they were definitely slower than even the factory variants). Mostly the uptight instructors, you really weren't allowed to have fun – unless the most exciting driving you’ve done is put the foot down all the way in a Hyundai while in 5th gear on a highway you’d be very disappointed with the day. I seriously have more fun driving on public twisty roads sticking to the speed limit.

  • Glad I didnt do this when I had my EVO, my wife was going to get it for me for my birthday, sounds like it would have been a waste of money.

what kinda fun can you have in a hyundai rally, ul struggle getin it sideways, crap offer.

your better off doing reverse donuts in your own excel :)

  • half the power(or less!), half the price, half the fun!

  • I actually did this a few months ago and it was great. Got as a gift, did about 6 laps in a Mitsubishi. They transform the track into a mini obstacle course where you have to go around cones and try to perfect a power slide. There is an instructor in car who gives you instruction on when to brake/accelerate.

Keep in mind, I rarely drive and when I do I'm lucky if my car doesn't break down so whipping round in someone elses car, being encouraged to accelerate on no traction corners is pretty exciting.

The only downside is that you are there with a few other people and will have to wait as they usually only take 2 cars around at a time. It's a bit pricey ($200 I think), I wouldn't buy it for myself.

Rally driving is about technique, not power. (To all the people complaining the car is 'slow')
