Take your $600 and buy a Miele C3 cat and Dog with the turbo head.

Don't waste your hard earned cash on Dyson's slick marketing. You'll not find a better vacuum, then the C3.

    Thank me later.

OK but what if you want a status symbol for a vacuum cleaner?

      • +1

Then this is the product for you!

Will look great next to your iPhone and Beats headphones. :)

Not only Dyson will look great, but also Miele C3 cat & dog is $729

          https://www.miele.com.au/domestic/vacuum-cleaners-1784.htm?m…

you will be spending, in this instance, $100 of your hard earned cash on Miele slick marketing :)

          @zDave:
Miele hardly spend their money on marketing. IMO, if you don't have carpet, get the Henry vacuum cleaner bc they don't have turbo head. They are around $220 and suck big time.

@zDave: The Cat & Dog regularly goes on sale for ~$429. And that's a far better deal than this.

The frustration these bagless cyclones have is emptying them, which is frequent, and cleaning them. Much more convenient and cleaner to just use bags which cost a few dollars each and last months. It's not worth the saving in consumable costs.

The design of the lid release mechanism is terrible. The lid opens from the bottom and the dust gets stuck to the bottom of the lid as soon as you open it, and you have to shake it to get it off, and fine dust flies everywhere. You'll also have to clean the barrel because it will cling to the outside of the lid also.

The Miele is more powerful also btw.

        • @zDave:

          Nah mate

And that's not on sale either.

    • Miele c3 is bagless?

      • +2

        Nope

      • Bagless is not worth it. I came from a Dyson because I thought bagless would be cheaper. Never going back to bagless. I was choosing between Dyson and Miele that time, and made the wrong choice. Eventually threw out the Dyson while it was barely used, and got a C3. Never been happier. The amount of dust it sucked up on the first vacuum would have been enough that if I was using the Dyson, I'd have to have emptied it 5 times or more, just for one room.

You're going to have to empty this Dyson every vacuum instead of 3-6 months, and it's messy every time you do it. The cannister is tiny. And the MAX line is very low on the cannister, which means it fills up very fast.

        • So the Miele bag has a greater volume capacity such that you dont have to replace for 3-6 months compared to a Dyson which would need emptying more frequently?

Also how much is each bag?

        • @panacheski:
Don't know about changing the bag after 6 months. But according to Miele it costs about $30/year. It seems that this does not include the costs of filters, which will require replacement.

Not here for the Dyson vs Miele debate, as I've never used a Miele before. But if you're finding emptying your Dyson a messy process, you're definitely doing it wrong. Emptying mine into a plastic bag is a 5 second, clean and easy process.

        • I am with you mate. I have the Dyson and emptying the cannister is definitely not a 10-15 second task, if you want it actually clean. Yes, quick release button opens to drop contents, but the dust sticks to the bottom of the canister as well as the door. Takes a while to get it actually clean for reuse.
I have not use a Miele though, so not sure how good/bad it is in these regards.

I've had this Dyson for 5 months and it sucks great. Best thing is bagless with quick release so you just drop the contents into the bin in 2 seconds…also no filters to clean/wash/replace.

It's possible to spend lots on slick marketing AND have great products…just ask Apple.

    • +1

yes, no filters to clean, wash or replace is a plus…..

  • Bought Miele C3 Complete Family one from Myer ebay for $322 after using coupen 'crazy' on Friday with free dwlivery. Will get by Wednesday will see how we go. Even Goog Guys are still selling for $449.
