The grinders from altomic's post have been reduced further to $1 each! They're made from heavy duty plastic in 3 colours.

Plastic ones breakdown, whereas the metal ones usually last. Funnily enough one of the best grinders I found was the ones that come preloaded in the spice aisle. Unfortunately you couldn't refill it.
Also constantly taking in micro shards of BPA ain't ideal either.
The plastic clip/hook that hold the 2 parts (top/bottom) will break first that's why it's so cheap…
I would only buy the grinders if there grind cog is metal, not plastic.
I think the burrs are ceramic, not plastic.
Ceramic would be OK too, from what I understand. However, happy for someone to correct me.
Can anyone confirm ceramic?
Trying to keep the food BPA free.
The quality of these are crap. Had a look at these in store, and probably 1/20 are good.
thanks for your 5 (per) cents' worth
Saw these in store a few days ago too, thought you can't go wrong for $1, then had a closer look and thought seems I was wrong, the top and bottom section were a good couple of mm out of alignment.
For a dollar I'll give them a try
Price match at OW for 95 cents :P
The main problem is that they're ugly more than anything else tbh
I was about to say the same thing, uit's 100 on the fuglometer!
I take it this deal… grinds your gears?
saw at kippa ring today
Bought a couple, feels quite solid,,not quite sure if i filled it properly,as it opens into two sections, seems to work fine so far, is not the most attractive but i didnt buy it cause its purty, its a bargain if it doesn't break down
Try to find grinders with Peugeot mechanism. I have a couple that are as good as when I bought them over 20 years ago.
Peugeot mechanism
Will parts cost me an arm and a leg in the future?
Hehe. A bit like Miele I guess. Expensive when you need them but I’ve spent about $300 on my dishwasher and $150 on my washing machine in parts over the 21 years I’ve owned them.
