Got this in an email from VMWare today. This is an upgrade for existing VMWare Fusion 1 or 2 users and Parallels users.

I took advantage of this last week (forgot to post on here)… I purchased VMWare Fusion 1.0 for $80 back in the day… somehow managed a free upgrade to 2.0, but had held back on the 3.0 upgrade as they wanted $40 for it… for $10, it's a bargain.
Excellent deal, just finally upgraded from my parallels 3.0.
Also picked up the 12 month upgrade/subscription, all for A$35…
On price alone this seems like a good price, but I'm curious as to which is better - Parallels 6.0 or Fusion 3.1 ?
Fusion has much better guest operating system support (many flavours of Linux, Windows and legacy OSes all the way back to MS DOS 6.22). Plus, the VMware Communities is a fantastic forum to get help on technical issues.
Other than that, they're much and much the same. That's just from my own experience having used both extensively over the years.
Awesome deal for those that unlike me didn't just purchase a copy at 50% before this deal went public:( shrugs C'est la vie, non?!
