No more standing in the bread-line!

    Laughs in French

    • I'm a simple man. I see a FotC reference, I upvote.

      • Kismet that FotC are actually laughing at a baguette. Ho ho ho!

Et maintenant le voyage a la supermarche!

Thanks for this! I'm going to put a reminder in my phone so I won't Baguette it!

Any idea where you can find the participating stores ? (Only available at participating stores.)

    • I'd like to know as well

    • +1

It only had a link to 'Find your closest store', so realistically probably anywhere suburban is fine

    • +2

Apparently all of them, according to Baker's Delight response from FB.

Dunno how to paste the image response here .. :/

    • I called my local store and they're participating; there's a phone number provided at "Find your closest store".

  • +1

This is gonna be challenging which store will have supply!

    • +3

If your store won't give you bread then ask them for cake!

      • Technically they will give you brioche instead.

My local doesn't happily hand free items during these promos. The manager/baker is onsite, scopes out the people with the 'free voucher' and serves them in a way that almost guilts you into making a purchase first. What's the cheapest item one can buy?

    • Probably a bread roll, around 50c??

What's the cheapest item one can buy?

      The bags are free AFAIK.

This is why i check OzBargain, would otherwise have absolutely no idea about this!

  • +1

Do you have to say "Hi, I'm Spackbace"?

    • Only if you live in WA

    • +1

Nah then they'll roll out the red carpet for you, there's a fanfare, strippers, cocaine, it's a whole thing! I'd hate for all the stores to be inconvenienced like that.

      • +1

I tried this but all I received was a vague look of bewilderment.

Is it too late to neg the deal? 🤔

        • +1

Well, you could pos vote it while you're here ;)

        • +1

          Cheers!

  • +1

how do you walk in and get it?

    • +3

Sounds like a forum post ;)

  • +1

What do you actually do with these things, besides have sword fights and poke people with it?

  • +4

I know I'm a grot but does preview pic appear to be a bit suggestive?

    • +1

Only if there was cream or butter dripping down the baguette.

    • That guy has quite girly fingers.

  • Assuming this is not targeted? Don't need to show anything to redeem?

  • Just checked this out. Purchase required to get the free baguette

    • +6

I got one without purchase. Their Facebook page also answered the question and said no purchase is required.
I suspect your local stores franchisee is playing games.
Post about it on their Facebook page and name the store, hopefully they'll get in a bit of trouble.

      • +3

        Correct, I suspected so.
        Belmont store, high Street Geelong.
That's a red card for them

    • Purchase also required at the Woden Westfield store

Got mine in Leichhardt this morning. They weren't really aware about that, had to ask the manager who gave a free baguette for me (Also bought a croissant at the same time).

But to be honest, the baguette I got wasn't great. I miss so much baguette from France, open to any advice from ozbargainer ;).

  • I got a free baguette in Belconnen, but had to purchase another item first to get it

    • Send msg to BD FB page. That's poor form and cheeky as there is no requirement to buy anything to receive. It's a free promo.

Went to the Gungahlin store today (Sunday) close to 4pm. They told me that they have no baguette left. I pointed out that there are over 10 of them on the counter. She then said all the free ones are gone. So, I asked her how I identify the free ones and how many free ones were there. She told me that she doesn't know how many free ones were there, but they are all gone. Really frustrating when you think that you trusted the organization who all along I thought niche was being authentic

    • Send a msg to bakers delight FB page. Bad publicity given this is a publicity event. Just dodgy franchisees going against national promo. They should send you out a Comp card to get one

      • I wouldn't normally, but I've emailed the business outlining the deceptive conduct at High Street Belmont Geelong Baker's Delight store, and that I was essentially conned, and that I want a refund for my unnecessary, and frankly, unwanted purchase

        • I feel for the franchisees having to go along with whatever head office decide.

But when they are charging $6 a loaf they can suck it up.

Plus that's what they signed up for.

Personally I've found BD franchisees to be dodgy as hell with these promos.

I don't buy from them anymore though after seeing a tray of bread lying on the floor while the glass display was being cleaned.

          @Lv80:
agree, they are frightfully overpriced and im an occasional customer there at best. so they replied to my email and advised they are sending me a voucher to use. awaiting arrival..
