A combination of the eBay 20% off Good Guys (CGOOD - Thanks to Tightarse) and the Panasonic Extra Comfort cashback = yay! Shoutout to FreshPrinceofKP for picking this one up.

Prefer Fujitsu? Right this way…

List of available eligible models (delivered to metro areas). Deduct $50.14 for Click and Collect.

2.5kw CS/CU-Z9RKR = $899 x 80% + $50.14 delivery = $769.34 - $100 cash back = $669.34 (save $279.80)
3.5kw CS/CU-Z12RKR = $989 x 80% + $50.14 delivery = $841.34 - $100 cash back = $741.34 (save $297.80)
5.0kw CS/CU-Z18RKR = $1349 x 80% + $50.14 delivery = $1129.34 - $150 cash back = $979.34 (save $419.80)
7.0kw CS/CU-Z24RKR = $1699 x 80% + $50.14 delivery = $1409.34 - $200 cash back = $1209.34 (save $539.80)
8.0kw CS/CU-Z28RKR = $2089 x 80% + $50.14 delivery = $1721.34 - $200 cash back = $1521.34 (save $617.80)

Note: installation costs may range from about $500-$600 each in addition to the cost of the unit - this was for a simple back to back 3.5kW unit. Prices may vary for higher kW or more complex installations.
Don't forget the 1.30% cash back via CashRewards!

Original 20% off Sitewide at The Good Guys eBay Deal Post

UPDATE:
YogaPants has raised questions over the eligibility for the cash back due to the terms and conditions.

From personal experience, I can confirm that the Good Guys invoice makes a few references. 1. There is a "Web Order No." field. 2. The Salesperson is listed as "Web S". 3. If you opt for delivery, it will be a separate line item named "EBAYDEL - eBay Delivery". The invoice letterhead has your local Good Guys store details, as they are usually the ones which fulfil your order, just as if you bought from there.

If you are willing to get creative with MS Paint or want to take a gamble - by all means…

  • I just bought Fujitsu from Good guys
Wondering which is better Panasonic or Fujitsu????any idea

Also with Fujitsu the cashback reward is a little better than panasonic.

    • +1

If you already bought it, does it really matter now unless you are planning to get another one.

I have a Panasonic, bought two years ago. No issues so far, otoh, Mark Taylor says fujitsu is Australia's favorite air.

    • I would go mitsu heavy industries or panasonic because the PCB has a silicon layer on top of it (i.e. is gecko proof/resistant). Had to get a Samsung fixed recently because of this.

      Please read those cashback T&Cs!

Purchases of Eligible Products must be made at a participating Panasonic retailer or Panasonic Specialist Air Network dealer / installer. Online purchases (including purchases via eBay) are not eligible. Claimants must have fully paid for the Eligible Product before they are eligible to submit a claim.

      • You can't tell it is an eBay purchase from TGG invoice according to past experience.

      • Bought Panasonic via eBay with 20% discount, picked up from TGG, received the invoice, then filed the cashback claim by snail mail,
        received approval today.

        • Same.

Credit given where due. Plus voted.

    • Cant go wrong with fujitsu.excellent product and best service. My fujitsu still going 20years no service only clean filter myself.

  • I'm going to go in tomorrow to take a look at both the Fujitsu and Panasonic units. I'm thinking it will come down to the aesthetics for me as well as a ability to actually have it installed (small path down the side of the house to put it)

    • Biggest mistake most installers make is placing the outside unit too close to a wall limiting air flow.

      • Is it good idea to place it on the roof?
I spoke with the installer who suggested not to install it on the roof.

        • I'm not entirely sure, but just a thought FWIW, if it's on the roof it makes cleaning more difficult and you also might notice noise/vibrations through your frame. Personally, it seems headachy to put a RC air con on a roof but I guess if access or whatever is terrible then maybe it's a good option.

        • @Jawanzar:
          Thx for the reply.
I had 2 installers for inspection and both had differ approach.
1 wants to install RC on the roof and the other on the floor. No issue with space but required longer pipe.
I decided to have it on the floor.

  • Which 8kw is better this or fuji

    • Fujitsu

      Panasonic
      http://www.panasonic.com/content/dam/Panasonic/support_manua…

Though I prefer Panasonic the Fujitsu looks to have slightly better specs. Features may be better on Panasonic (not much in it though). Timer - you can only have 1 On/Off with Fujitsu, two per day with Panasonic. So you can have a morning and an evening session. One think I look for is how low the heating temp can be set. On my Pan (about two models old) the minimum is 16 degrees. Daikin can go lower than that. Not sure about Fuj.

      • I rang one of the reseller+installer, she said you may experience waranty issue with fujitsu..thats why they always have promo for quick sales. But in comparison i tend to panasonic may be of the eco mode?..i had fujitsu before and hardly use mainly at summer but ao far so good it has no eco mode that was a very old model.

        • +1

Sound bull. I never had warranty issues with fujitsu.

  • +2

Note: installation costs may range from about $500-$600 each in addition to the cost of the unit.

where are you getting this from? seems very low and can be misleading especially for the larger units.

    • I am also keen to know…

      • I went in today to Good Guys to take a look at the unit. For 3.5kw it is $570 to install back to back, eg nothing out of the ordinary needs to be done.

    • I had mine installed less than a month ago and it was 550 and extra 50 for making a plastic slab for the outdoor unit..from goodguy assigned installer.

      • Can you buy from Goodguys ebay and get in installed by using their in-store installation service?

        • Why not? I will choose to pick it up from store and ask for installation too…otherwise may directly call that installer to do private job for me. But i font see any reason why not you cant use their installer..

        • @aladdin:
Thanks for the info. Any contact numbers?

        • @djshitu: just pm u..

        • @aladdin: Thanks

        • @djshitu: did u get certficates of installation?? Plumbing and electrical works?? Sounds cheap

        • @usmanyousaf:i didnt get any certificate from installer but i had GG receipt…does that count? Does the certificate actually exist or should i say does installer these days provide those certificate together with the receipt? I will check if he will provide official/proper receipt when they do private job for me.

        • @aladdin:
I personally prefer to have the certificate.
I have heard stories where people claimed the warranty but the manufacturer refused it because of the installation not as per their requirement.

I was offered less than $500 for installation without certificates.

      • Hi guys mine have done through good guy propect nsw..just in case.

      • sounds like a 2.5kw back to back with no further electrics required?

      • Is it just me, or it ridiculous that you pay nearly as much for the actual product as you do to have someone install it?

        • Nope..i am thinking the same..but what can you do? I rather to pay someone to fit it for me…i wish i can find cheaper option but this seems to be the cheapest inhouse installation from reseller..

        • It involves a qualified sparky and plumber to install an aircon.
I am assuming this is one of the reasons of high cost.

        • @aladdin:

Oh for sure, yeah I wouldn't contemplate trying to install something like that myself. I guess I'm hung up on principles, which is probably a bit like biting off my nose to spite my face. I probably need to pick my battles sort of thing.

        • @usmanyousaf:

Yeah, I think this is probably the case too.

    • True….I have been quoted $1700 for 3.5kw & 5.0kw units.
3.5kw is back to back & the 5.0kw needs a pump & an extra pipe.

    • +1

Apologies, this was for a simple back to back 3.5kW unit. Prices may vary for higher kW or more complex installations.

Best that you find your own quotations throughout Hipages etc.

    • I was quoted $800 for 2, $1100 for 3. Back to back with electrical too.

      • Wow. Great price. Do you mind sharing where you got your quotes from?
Can anyone recommend a installer in Melbourne? Got quoted $550 for 3.5kw back to back

        • +1

Initially found him via hipages and he did my folks' splits. But I'm in WA. PM me if you want his details.

  • Delivery is higher for country areas - $75.84 for me.

I recently bought the Z18 unit and it just fantastic - quiet when you need it to be but powerful enough to cool quickly and warm quickly. It's nice getting up to a warm house when using the timer!

  • -3

Question is how much have they jacked up the price?

    • they didn't. I have been seeing this from a month or so.

    • Can confirm - these are normal prices. Same as the website.

    • Not at all. This is what I paid back in October last year.

  • Ok so can I use two heads with one 8kw motor. I have a unit and need one for the living room and one for the bedroom

  • +2

If you live in QLD these are also eligible for the PeakSmart rebate, once they're installed.

    Reward - Cooling Capacity
    $100 - Less than 4kW
    $200 - 4kW or less than 10kW
    $400 - 10kW or more

    https://www.energex.com.au/home/control-your-energy/positive…

  • Bought 4 units after the 20% it took of roughly $1000 and then $550 cash back so seems like a ok deal

    • Double check T&C's for limits per household etc. It may not be too late to cancel and reorder under a spouse or second address etc.

      From the T&C's;

A maximum of four (4) claims may be submitted per household; per name; per address and per email address subject to the following: (a) only one (1) claim permitted per specified purchase requirement; and (b) each claim must be submitted separately and in accordance with claim requirements.

Anyone want to try and translate it? :p

  • Just bear in mind warranty service. I have a 3 year old Panasonic that wasn't cooling. It has been found to have an internal coil gas leak and this has had to be replaced. All up it has taken more than 4 months since first contacting them to be rectified by their contracted repairers and it's still not finished. I'm still waiting for the repair to be completed because on the last 2 visits the technician has broken something trying to repair it and this involves another few weeks of ordering a part and scheduling a visit and time off work to be around.

    • I have a Panasonic that can cool but the heating mode is busted. It is a very old R22 unit. Was thinking to replace with a Daikin unit but now seeing this offer, I am tempted to just use a Panasonic…..

  • Prices are great….but I am more concern on the installation as its a variable price….

Anybody have installed it? how much is installation for the type of installation.

E.g. Wall to wall, quoted meter from wall unit, 2nd floor and etc.

    • $500-600 bucks for simple ground floor install. Plus $300-400 for an electrical circuit.

      • Yeh I paid $550 to the fridgies to get a 8kw Panasonic installed
Poured the slab and did the electrics myself

  • click and collect?

    • If you wish to collect the air conditioner yourself in person at your nearest Good Guys, you can save $50.14.

    • yes that is available, I just did purchased it. Plan on leaving it at Good Guys until my room is ready, few weeks. Hope that is ok

      • +2

Depends on what vehicle you have to transport it in too, btw.
3.5kW wouldn't fit in a normal car's rear seats - it needs to remain upright.

        • damnit! Wish I'd read this comment before ordering!

  • i got a panasonic in the last deal. had problems from day one.

    • What problems I have a LG for 6 years sweet ass no problem 8kw blows like nothing

    • what kind of probs mate? Care to elaborate?

      • well the error light flashed for two days until the technician looked at it, at which point it started working. so yeah it hated me straight up. The remote has about 1 thousand options that don't make any sense what-so-ever. "eco-navi" - WTF is that. "iAutoX" - "nanoeG" - they aren't even words. So when you press the button and the fan blows really hard while not heating you think "oh thats what iAutoX" is - which it probably isn't but who knows. The fan on the indoor unit vibrates violently at times causing the plastic panels to start squeaking. The remote seems to reboot itself and forget which mode you've set the indoor unit to so its pot luck as to whether you're going to get hot or cold when you turn it on. Sometimes it just seems to sit and think and flash - maybe its laughing at me.
But yeah when it starts heating it heats and when it starts cooling it cools - it just takes a lot of convincing.

        • Thanks mate.

        • Yeh, I have been disappointed with mine. Got the same vibration issue and the remote control works just as you stated. Mine takes an age to come on too. Also the head doesn't always bother to respond to the remote.

  • DON'T FORGET - YOU NEED TO REGISTER YOUR CASHBACK CARD WITHIN A CERTAIN PERIOD AND THEN USE IT WITHIN A CERTAIN PERIOD.

Can any buyers confirm what their invoice looks like for this particular deal? Looking to pull the trigger but want to make sure I will be eligible for cashback.

  • With sitewide 15%, stancash had them even-cheaper-again.

    $1140.45 pickup, assuming cashback works.

    Gotta be prepared!

  • Bought the following today using this deal. Successfully lodged Panasonic cashback. Now wait up to 8 weeks lol.
    - 7.0kw CS/CU-Z24RKR
    - 3.5kw CS/CU-Z12RKR

    Cheers for posting.

    • +1

      No plus vote?

    • So the invoice you received didn't mention eBay on it? Did you get delivery?

      • I bought the Fujitsu one. It definitely makes reference to eBay in the delivery and there's a Web Order number.

      • I picked up instore with ute. They printed me a goodguys invoice (they just do this by default) invoice listed it as normal gg price without ebay discount. I submitted my cashback claim using that no discount receipt.

  • I am more incline to think the exclusion of online purchases is to differentiate those online sales to sales from participated retailers.

    Keep finger crossed.

I bought two 3.5kw units using this deal. I ordered them as click & collect and organised the installation via TGG. Installation was $570 each plus $84 each for wall mounting (well worth the money). The installer collected the units from TGG for me, at no cost, so that was a win. The installers did an excellent job including installing a new circuit in the meter box.

I just received confirmation that both $100 cashback claims were successful and I will receive the eftpos cards within 8 weeks.

I've also got $25 pending from CashRewards.

I'm very happy with these units. A suggestion if I may for the people who have posted about difficulties using the remote - If at first you don't succeed, read the damn instruction book!

Thanks to the OP for posting this deal.
