Saw this while I was seeing if they were doing the $387 PS3's like in QLD… They also had Ashes Cricket for X360 for $15 if anyone is interested.
The invisible salesman never appeared after 5 minutes of standing around and looking for someone to serve me. They have crap service indeed, but if you are after a cheap Wii console, give it a go I guess.
I know there are certainly some people on here that would love to not be bugged by a sleazy salesman
Normally I would think that is great, but not when I am hunting for a bargain PS3! I can't believe I didn't see one pounce on me in 5 minutes though. Usually they try and sell you something when you are even walking past looking straight ahead.
Consoles are often under cost. If the sales people realised you were looking for something they would lose money on they are not exactly going to be in a rush.
Say a console is $100 under cost*. The sales person will esentially lose $10 out of their pay packet by selling it to you.
*(when i say under cost i should point out the "cost" includes the rebates that go back to head office ~ 16%. So while something may not technically be under what we would call cost, for the salesperson it is)

They are too lazy to call and check the price? I mean Hardly Normal are useless, but not matching an advertised price is a joke!!

Yeah just ask your local store to call frankston.
The other option is buy it at full price. Go back in with this price and they will have to give you 110% of the difference.
Note:
*I assume they still have their price promise posters up.
*This also wouldnt work if the 2 stores are a long way away from each other.
*If you ever have an issue with a store not doing something they should, call 02 9201 6111 and head office will straighten them out. Just threatening to call head office will normally be enough, franchisees get ranked on the number of complaints.

rang Frankston and was told still had stocks.
Rang HN at Fountain Gate and was told "no we are selling for $288"
Tried Rebel at Fountain Gate in person and was told "we don't price match Wii"
Tried HN Fountain Gate in person and success! Staff member asked manager if HN Frankston was selling at $198 - the reply "correctomundo".
Even a choice of colours (we bought black).

With the launch of the Sony PS3 Move this month and the much anticipated XBox Kinect next month, I think the price of a Wii Console is going to drop near the $150 before long, certainly by Christmas.
