Paying: As always, paying in USD via Paypal equates to AU $73.01 using MasterCard rates, otherwise you can pay in AUD on Gearbest to make it AU $74.60 (if you don't have int'l fee free card like 28 degrees). Don't pay in USD on GearBest and AUD in PayPal as Paypal Exchange rates are poor and you'll pay a few dollars more than you should. PayPal instructions

    • My bad, how did I miss that one. Yes, better deal there for most - same model and still available.

    • -2

Not really, because LightInTheBox is replacing genuine parts with third party ones. Wouldn't go near them.

      • +1

3rd party parts …… only xiaomi make these, and the voice remote …..

        • Someone selected the EU option and got an unofficial EU adapter. US is fine.

  • can this stream games from my pc to the tv?

    • You can with Moonlight apparently but expect some latency. Wouldn't want to be playing any fast paced/multiplayer games on it though.

  • Can anyone suggest a good value 32gb/3gb or 32gb/4gb box?

    • 16GB is as big as they go to keep costs down and because they have USB ports so movies and music is stored on external drives or network. The 16GB flash is just for android OS and a few apps, and there is a limit to the number of apps you have on a TV box.

At the moment I have a mecool M8S, it's S912, kodi, Netflix, Iview, ABCme all work fine as expected, it's 3GB RAM 16GB Flash.

    • I've heard Alfawise H96 Pro + is great

Got this from the LITB deal. So far so good, much faster and more responsive than my Sony Android TV

    Cheaper currently at LITB

    • If you don't want a non-genuine power adapter, sure. Not worth it.

      • none of them have an AU power adapter, so US and bend pins is as good as it gets. I believe they are 5.2V not 5V so hard to but a power pack with AU pins at 5.2V.

Also seems the gearbest price is for UK power pack, when I select the US power option it's $7 US more, and code doesn't work, so only for UK power option.

Never said they came with an AU power adapter. They're not sending Xiaomi provided power adapters. Use at your own risk.

  • Quick question, what apps would I need on my phone to stream HVEC videos that are stored on my phone to the Andriod TV? Thanks

    • Either a DLNA server, or a player with Chromecast.

      • Bubblesoft UPnP either way.

    • Allcast?

    • Use Kodi on the box as your dlna player…go to services to enable it.
On the phone use any of the countless players. I couldnt find one without adds that I liked so Im not recommending anything.
Personally Im just casting from my pc to the box, for that I use the chrome app vGet Cast….
      https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/vget-cast-dlna-con…
Its also got an extension that can cast from some web pages.

    • Kodi on your phone (Android?) would probably do it. Right-click on the file and select the media player connected to your tv in 'Play Using'. You'd have to setup Kodi on your TV box to accept UPnP from other devices (can't remember the exact location of that setting atm). Edit: No right-click on your phone (duh!). Long-press maybe?

    • Thank you all for your help.

  • How is this seller? better than lightinthebox or Aliexpress??

    • they are OK, I'm waiting on my first lightinthebox order, and in regards to Ali, about the same 4-5 week wait on the free post option.

      • thanks.

  • Bought this at lightinthebox for 51.48usd with code plus also additional 9% cashrewards. Waiting for delivery.

    • didnt get any confirmation from cashrewards, did you get it?

      • Mine did:

        Retailer: Light In The Box

        Sale value: AUD 74.92 *

Bought from LITB. Aren't all power adapters none genuine anyway since they don't make Australia compat ones out of the box.

    • -1

you get genuine EU and US very often, but AU are scarcer, often Banggood have AU in their deals as do Zapals.
The best outcome if no AU is US and bend the pins.

I got a Xiao mi power board which lets me plug in the non aus power adapter.

  • Says "The Code you entered has expired." when entering the code. Same for anyone else?

    • there was a limited stock of 200. When I bought it, it showed 145 global stock.

  • Bought this one from last deal. I use this only for playing movies (mkv, 720p) on my external hard drive. BUT one problem came out that when played for more than 1.5 hours, it freezes. I have tried KODI, and other players, same thing happens. Both of my Seagate and Toshiba hard drive have the same problem. Try to restart to solve, but freeze after 2 or 3 mins. What I can see is when hard drive connected to the box, the led keeps flashing which means it is reading or writing busily even I do nothing on the hard drive. Do you guys have the same problem?

    • What plug adapter did you receive from gearbest if you don't mind me asking?

  • The EU power pack I received seems to be fine. Doesn't get hot or have coil whine.

    • I got the EU power pack too. Since I am using a socket from China, no need to use any adapter. I do not know why the Chinese socket is not popular in Australia, you can plugin most of the plugs from Au, China, EU, US, UK directly.
