Don't forget the AMEX deal on top.

    • If you have $150, applied $25 off code, does the AMEX deal still count?

      • Nope, need to spend $150+ (after discounts)

      • The transaction will $125 only, so I don't think so.

  • There is also a spend $150 get $20 statement credit for Amex. (as above :))

  • +2

    Find 2x $90 items = $180
    $180-$25 = $155 w/ 25OFF code
    $155-$20 = $135 w/ AMEX offer

Repeat on other Kathmandu Summit Club accounts.

    • +2

      plus Cashrewards $155 x 4.8% = $7.4

      $135-$7.4=$127.6

make it 30% off the sales price

  • Tempting on this new Litehaul Carry-On Backpack.

Not sure if it's the cheapest for this backpack :'(

I have just purchased this backpack and i am not very impressed with it. I paid $153 on the recent ebay sale (15%off $179 sale price). It doesn't look strong enough for my purpose of overseas travel. The white clips look they will break with time and the shiny black material which covers the back and base of the bag looks like it will wear and tear with use. I have also bought an osprey farpoint 40l as i needed two bags and this looks stronger and has a guarantee if it breaks. If your purpose is overseas travel i recommend the osprey which i picked up for $135 from chain reaction cycles (150-$15new member discount). I haven't used the bags yet so my opinion is just based on the appearance of the bags but i hope this helps.

      • I am looking for an all-in-one bag that could be used for daily and travel. Osprey farpoint 40l might be too big for daily commuting. After some research, I got the Lowepro HighLine BP 400 AW yesterday with the 20% off code. $200 is A little bit overpriced though.

      • Thanks - i was considering both these bags today for my upcoming backpacking trip. I am going to have a look at both in store tomorrow but already leaning towards the Osprey - although Chain reactions have sold out of the Grey colour :/

      • +1

        Osprey all the way.

Light weight combined with a lifetime warranty. Heavy use and abuse is still covered. Didn't even need proof of purchase when I had my last pack replaced. Took about a week. They paid postage both ways.

Kathmandu shit is all poor value for quality. Get something which is a recognised brand in the US. Ideally with US style customer service attached.

    • +6

I would second shiningstars. Osprey is a fantastic brand, one of the best. Although it is not as svelte looking or flashy, it does the job better than kathmandu ever will.

    • checkout Osprey Porter 46

      • I don't think the porter will pass all airlines carry on baggage restrictions?

        • +3

Using it for the last two years as a carry on. Flown with most of the budget carriers. No problem at all. Osprey porter can be compressed to look small and its light weight too. Perfect as a carry on. But cant be used as a hiking backpack. Farpoint is better in that regard.

        • +1

I get away with the Farpoint 55L.

Been overseas and interstate many times.

Because you can detach the day pack, you can have the daypack under your seat and the rest in the top compartment.

  • Woolworths also currently has a promotion where you buy a $50 gift card you get an additional $5 bonus and if you were to buy a $100 gift card you get $10 bonus

    • I can't find that promo. Can you link to it please?

  • has anyone tried to split payments over 2 amex cards to pay for 1 item at Kathmandu?

  • +1

any bargains or is it just advertising?

    • Bought a Down Jacket for $185 down from $399 RRP.

      • Which one? Do you have a link or a name?

      • +1

The RRP on the north face nuptse jacket is $400AU (much better workmanship and 700 fill as opposed to 550). If you import sometimes you can get that for around $200 and that is a bargin.
        The men's epiq is a $200 jacket for $185

        • The North Face Nuptse Jacket doesn't have a hood. I did look at North Face Jackets too but jumped on this one because it's on sale. Kathmandu also have a 650 Fill Jacket for 299 as well.

  • Usually the 50% off is for the Kathmandu branded stuff, which can be of poor quality. But with the additional 25% off there are so ok deals to be had depending on what you are looking for. Their Salomon boots are slightly cheaper than Amazon with the stacked discount.

    • It's $25 off not an additional 25%…

  • +3

Isn't 50% off at Kathmandu just their normal price?

    • yeah, to have a sale it has to be 80% off anything else just normal price + some :-)

  • +1

Hey guys , anyone else having issues login in? I purchased the membership and now I am trying to log in and it just keeps refreshing the login screen (but it dosen't say my logins are incorrect) I tried with the same logins and was able to get into the app??
ahh so annoying!!! what can I do?

  • +1

    Perfect - used $25 off code using '25OFF' + $20 Amex deal

    • +1

and i just got a $20 birthday voucher from Kathmandu.

  • Thanks OP, I knew I didn't buy the Epiq V2 jacket in store at $279 for a reason the other week!

  • +4

This is why I hate Kathmandu!!! They sell their items at a premium price and then next minute they go on sale for almost half of what you originally paid. I think this makes their products seem "cheaper quality" than the premium priced products they market.

Ugh, we all know you never pay full price at KMD so I was holing out for ages on an item to go on sale, it just wasn't happening I got desperate so I bought it. 2 days later it goes on sale $100 cheaper than what I paid, frustrating, bought another, now to send the other one back for a refund.

    • Yeah me too, gonna put another order and return the one I bought earlier with higher price

      Online purchase can return ?

      • Yes, you can return to the shop.

    • you are crazy if you pay their full price, their fully price usually normal retail price of stuff like Northface + 30% on top :)
their normal price is so ridiculous people must be mad to pay for them

you can do better with another online shop with top international brand like North Face, Pantagonia, Mammut, etc…

  • Having trouble getting the pics of the products to load up.

    • +2

you have to reload the page and click again, i had the same issue.

      • Yeah that's what I'm doing!

They had a 40% off one day flash sale 2 weeks ago or something. I didn't buy anything except a beanie for $12 which I worked out to be similarly priced from no brand names I had bought before. Took a look at many other items and they were all way over-priced! Wanted a pair of gloves to go with the beanie but it was freaking $30 after the discount. No thanks!

My wife is hooked into these 40-50% off promotions. Bought both of us and kid 3 in 1 jackets and many other hiking items. Don't get me wrong. The gears are quite good in quality (not the best) but just not worth their price even with the discount. Personally I think 60% off is just right instead of 40-50% off.

  • I have $66 of store credit, happy to sell for $55 if anyone is keen. Another saving to stack if you like.
I'm in north Sydney area but could meet in the city.

Valid beyond sale to end of year.

  • anybody a summit member and would like to collect points? I am looking to purchase a toddler ski suit.

    • PM me. I might be able to help?

      • I'm currently overseas and they won't let me start a direct message. Are you able to PM me?

        • I would have PM you if you had that enabled. Try again or you can enable "Allow private messages" in Settings > Edit > Messaging

    • Hehe I would like to collect points too

    Thank you OP!

    Woo hoo!

    • You've done well mate! Got mine for 174.95 after 25OFF and Cashback. Don't have AMEX.

      • Why don't you apply for one? It is free.

  • 25OFF doesn't work for me when I try to purchase this http://www.kathmandu.com.au/expedite-coat-womens.html

I just get "Promo code "25OFF" is not valid."

    Anyone having the same issue?

edit: never mind. didn't realise I had to be logged in.

  • For current non members: Free instantaneous summit club membership for $zip with purchase using VISAFREESC from previous deal. Cheapest thing I could find was a $7 clearance bucket hat for the kids (free store pickup).

Then use membership in fresh purchase to access discounted prices and 25off code.

Note 50% sale advertised on tv as going public (or non members) on Thursday but no mention of extra 25 off.

    And don't forget cash rewards…..

  • Damn, is there any way to get this deal even though its finished?

    • +3

The 50% sale is still on. This was pre-public sale for Summit Club. The AMEX is still on til 18/07. I think the "25OFF" code is now expired.

      • +1

        It has, just tried it.
