  • Seen it in store the other day. Looks tiny cos their showroom is so big and the edges of the TV are so slim.

    Perfect for a second room

does anyone know if you can record one show and watch another channel at the same time with the PVR?

  • VG price

    • If anyone has word on how much stock they have, it'd be good to know if I can wait till the 14th to decide.

Bought one just the other day. Seems sweet. Keep in mind it's a cheap screen. Corners have this somewhat shadowy effect, but I knit pick. Also, something incredibly freaken odd is, when you send the sharpness level all the way up it really makes the screen look super great, I can certainly tell a huge difference in video gaming than my previous budget 42" television, which was also a SONIQ, the odd part is… when you place the sharpness all the way to 100, it completely blurs the screen like it's set to 0. Same when you drop it to 99. Once it's at 98, screen is sharp as. You must always keep it at 98 which I find stupid. If you hit 99 or 100 it blurs completely out. Anyone else have this major glitch with theirs? Give it a try and let me know. Many that have been sold may have came with that systematic glitch built in. Lastly, and most annoyingly, I've screwed in the stand, which consists of two separate pieces of legs. Placed them in perfectly. Screwed them in tight. The TV wobbles back and forth like it's about to come off of it's hinges and face plant onto my floor. It stands more fragile than a feather in a jar. It looks like it hasn't even been put together properly. But it has. Has a vertical forward decline, I try to straighten it up to look normal, just vertically declines forward again. Is it just me, or does every other do the same? I just saw it on display in JBHIFI and grabbed myself a box. Have not been back in yet to move it with my hand to see if that wobbles too. Just seems very odd to me that it would do that. If that's normal, it surely adds a new meaning to the word cheap. Aside those few things, is it worth picking up, absolutely. Cheapest 42" screen on the market today. And with 3 HDMI ports, it's an absolute steal. My old SONIQ 42" only had 2. And I bought that for a bargain price for 400. This was 100 even less. My old TV was bought over a decade ago. Amazing it still works flawlessly, especially for a SONIQ. Ironically, the picture comes across better than my new one, in terms of in corner glares and shadowy looking spots. My old one had none. How freaken weird is that. Maybe the older models were built a tad better. Heck and it was a little extra than this one here. And I doubt it's just my screen, every person's screen who bought this model would show the same. I believe it's just the quality of screen that we purchase. But as I said, I knit pick quite a bit. Whether now, or in another 10+ years time, at 42" size, you won't ever find that size screen under the 300 dollar mark. 300 for that size will always be it's default. At that price, picking up that 42" size television is simply a no brainer. If you desire a much better quality television, same size, you could purchase one for several hundred dollars more and be even more happier. It really does fall down to preference either way and whether you deem it been worth it. You could be more than happy having the screen you have for that super cheap price. Each to their very own. I could never justify spending around a thousand dollars for a television. To me, it just feels pretty steep. Especially when you run the same risk of problems happening. They can all wreck. Regardless it been 900 or 300. They could also last well over a decade like my old TV did and that was just a budget one like this here. And 900 to 1300 dollar ones could have problems in just 5 years. So, it all falls down to just luck as well. Thought I'd write a very detailed review, hope you liked it. If people can respond regarding the above things that I noticed with mine and tell me if with theirs it is the same I would greatly appreciate that. At least I would know they are all like that. Cheers all. - JOHNNYKdotTV
