Do you ever need to replace ATF on modern vehicles though? I think i saw somewhere that the stock OEM filled ATF is good for life of the car.
Not sure how one would define "modern" vehicles. I have a 99 and a 05 Lexus both required to change the ATF after 100k km as the colour became dark cherry red and started having burnt smell.
Many online forum discussion agree upon "Lifetime" = 60k miles/100k km for ATF
Fluids and oils are cheap when comparing to replace the whole gearbox/differential/transfer case.
"lifetime = the amount of time we expect the first owner aka the person who paid us to keep the car"
Just remembered it's written on the dip stick that replacement of ATF is not required. But I agree you should be considering to replace as no fluids can last for eternity. This car is a 2011 corolla @115k presently, will consider changing within a couple of years.
Absolutely good price for the Transmax Multivehicle
