Women With Drive events are free community workshops designed to educate women about the basics of vehicle maintenance. Workshops are conducted by qualified Goodyear Autocare staff, and will teach participants how to check their cars basic systems including fluids, electrics, belts, hoses, wipers, under body and tyres.
Women With Drive workshops aim to bring local women together in a comfortable and friendly environment, giving them the chance to broaden their knowledge and allow them to be comfortable when it comes to dealing with their cars.
The program evolved out of research that shows women, while more likely to have a sense of control and concern, were less educated and less confident about basic car care and maintenance. The program will not make you a mechanic, but it will provide you with a basic understanding of the servicing requirements of your car, and how you can best look after your car between servicing intervals.
Although our workshops are free we will have donation boxes and pins available at all venues. All money collected will go to a charity close to our heart, the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF). The OCRF is Australia's pre-eminent body supporting ovarian cancer research and focus their efforts and funding on the search for an early detection test that will save women's lives.
Women with Drive workshops are held at regular intervals around the country to register interest for the next event in your local area
What's next? Are they going to have sessions for the LGBT community?
