  • Isn't this the same, but only $279 ea no need to buy two and not much of a bargain?

  • Always check CREP tests and drill down into the test detail, many seats even 5 star ones have very poor side impact performance.

  • How much is it normally why so expensive

It's the "deluxe" model. All are based on the same shell and standards, as testing and certification is expensive.
Then they add shoulder pads etc "for mums who care". Some even come with cup-holders.

  • I think their big annual sale is coming end of the month.

  • Probably better asked in the forums but does anyone know what the narrowest seats are for 3 and 5 year olds?

All of these deluxe ones seem to add a lot of bulk that make fitting a passenger between the seats almost impossible. Now of course I don't want to compromise on safety but I am an ozbargainer so 2 narrow seats seems cheaper than my wifes plan of a new car :)

    • You need to get a bigger car :)

    • My partner just bought a Infasecure Quattro Treo, which advertises itself as being the narrowest car seat with an in-built harness (it's 420mm at its widest).

It's only for for 0-4 year olds though, so not sure how useful it would be for you.

    Hi Mike,
My kids are now 9 and 6 so I am not really sure what's out there at the moment but just wanted to chime in to say that (depending on your car) it is totally possible to do and at some point in my past it did shape some of our car seat purchases.

Also, there is a big difference in bulk across different seats so you do need to investigate if that's important. Furthermore it's not just as simple as comparing the specs because even seats with the same width at the very base may have different sides that make it easier or harder to sit between.

Your best bet is probably to check some of the "mum" forums, the crep tests and then head into a big store for side by side comparisons if possible.
