Thanks for the share. Selected delivery as last time an in-store visit cost an extra $700…

    • +5

Smart move! I have never succeeded in visiting Ikea and leaving with just the item I was looking for.

      • But you got what you needed!

  • +4

Given I needed plastic tubs anyway they might as well be Lego - thanks

  • +1

    Thanks, gifts for kids sorted.

  • +2

$29 delivery but that's ok. Ordered heaps.

    • It's about time there's an IKEA in Tassie!

      • +4

        Aldi first please.

      • +3

No, tazzie can't have nice things… It's too pretty already.

  • +1

    $199 delivery to Newcastle. Oof

  • +2

Thanks, bought good amount. Needed figurines. Them alone worth it.

  • +1

    yoooo time to get some

  • Hi All, is this a box with lego pieces inside or just an empty box only?

    • +1

For the LEGO bricks: Comprises 200 LEGO bricks in different colours, shapes and sizes plus 1 practical tool.

BYGGLEK boxes with lids are sold separately.

So it seems you need to buy the boxes separately. The full BYGGLEK range is here

      • +1

Thank you. Bought 2 packs and 2 boxes to play with son.

  • +2

thanks bought $50 stuff for free CC

    • I need to read the post! - I spent $45 and paid $5 for in store C&C

      • Hahahaha. Sorry mate can’t help but to laugh

        • +1

Ah. I'm an idiot, did the same thing.

  • -1

$5 for pickup? Ridiculous. Not buying.

    • My pick up was free

      • $5 for me

  • Is this official Lego? Confused with the BYGGLEK name.

    • +2

it has lego logo on the image

    • +1

      It is.

  • +1

1000 pieces of Lego for $30 delivered, thanks OP.

    • $30 delivered? How is that

  • The big box says it's available in Perth but then says unavailable when you get to checkout

    • Yeah I paid delivery $12 but bought enough to make it worthwhile.

  • How many pieces is appropriate for a young kiddo (~3 yo)?

Thinking of getting some for my nephew. Don't want to clutter their toy storage but still want to get enough blocks.

    • +4

Get 1000 pieces to start, my 3 year old sticks whatever pieces are handy and then imagination takes over and they'll imagine it to be anything their growing minds deems it to be.

      • This is truly the way.

Just added a couple of glass marbles to some various lego bricks on a large lego basé plate tonight, and our 3YO had to be pulled away after 1/2 hours play of him using it as a mini marble run.

Similar to the old metal ball in a wooden maze puzzle. The ones where you have to tip the maze in didn't angles to make the ball travel through the maze.

  • +1

I'm not sure it's worth $5 tbh, reviews from the last $5 sale seem to back that up.

    • It's just standard official Lego. What could go wrong?

      • -4

Yep, its just a very basic set.
I can't see anything there that my kids would need.

        • What do your kids need?

        • +1

It's a Lego. Everything is basic pieces and you can create anything. And figurines. 4 figurines $20 in Lego store. This is a very good deal.

          • -1

@CrypticM: And if you're in Melbourne, you can just go to Legoland and swap your figurines for another one you want.

            • @ozbking: u can swap minifigures?!

              • @hibijibis: Yes! I didn't know about this, but I think it requires payed entry: https://www.legolanddiscoverycentre.com/berlin/en/tickets/ot…

Have you checked out the Minifigure Swap Wall at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Melbourne? Simply bring in a Minifigure from home and ask one of our friendly team members to help you trade your Minifigure with one of the HUNDREDS on our wall! What are you waiting for? To get swapping, book your tickets via the link in our bio

    • +11

Given $5 only gets you a LEGO minifig nowadays, I think $5 for a 201-piece set is a pretty good deal.

    • A single brick separator from LEGO costs around $4, so an additional 200 pieces (including 2 minifigures) is great value for $5.

The issue is it might not be worth it to people for their own building needs, & the comment / opinion from the last $5 sale was comparing it to buying used LEGO that has to be run through a washing machine…

  • Just starting out new collection for our kids after Uncle gave away the whole stash we lent him for his kids… How many packs would people recommend?

    • They have a limited range of useful parts and aren't good for very much at all.

      • +1

Agreed.. yes it is technically cheap per piece, but you would be better of with some discounted $10 set that have insturctions and build something specific… if you really want this, then you would need to buy prob 5 or 6 sets to have enough bricks for a basic house or animals..

        • +1

Depends on the age of your kids really, ain't no 3 year old going to be following instructions!

          • +1

@deeeno: Going to challenge this.. my 3yr old was a master at reading some of the LEGO instruction sets.
The $10 3 in 1s are a great starting point.. Coupled with rebrickable the LEGO building is endless.

        • +1

          I'm also chirping in here.

No need to diss the lego classic bricks type buys..

I can still sit down with our LO and build some amazing things with a little imagination. Having a few wheel sets increases this exponentially. But still. Our recent builds
          -flying dragon
          -marble maze
-various boats and boats towing other things
          -houses

I grew up with lego and no instructions booklets.
Later bought some sets, but still made my own variations to them.

    • +1

At this price probably 2-3 as you can probably pick up among more basic elsewhere also cheap and you needs bases, cars chassis’s etc which arent in this. I get quite a bit second hand now for specific sets. Also recommend uncle buys Lego as presents from now on!

      • +2

From my tired toddler parent brain who should be sleeping already, this appears to work out at less than 3 centre post brick.

From memory, recently one of the lego classics brick box worked out around 10-12 cents per brick. Some have wheels in the sets, but wheels aren't the end all of lego imagination.

See my previous post here to see what I mean.

So, sorry, but this IS good value if these bricks are legit as good as lego or rebranded lego for ikea.

If you need wheels then you often get a small car set for $10-$15 to add to it.

I know as that is how I rolled for our LO.

        • +3

Yes I’d agree with all of that. I do believe it’s actual Lego brand Lego.

It’s disturbing how quickly Lego escalates. Mine was Duplo from 1, little Lego at 3 just free building, following the instructions at 4 and now at 5 is obsessing over what they want to build, different kits, building a city, various scenes and we’re needing more storage and display solutions. They are now desperate to get into the roller coasters and trains.

I’ve been lucky to get some massive bargains on Lego on over the years (as low as $0.02/brick for brand new classic) so this along with presents from friends has meant it hasn’t cost too much. Given they’ll play independently for hours, I also consider it to be a free childcare bargain.

Cheers op. $8 postage to Mid North Coast NSW.

  • Oh well. All products are unavailable for delivery.

    • +1

go through to the checkout. mine was saying unavailable for delivery in the cart, but in the checkout it was fine

  • +1

last chance to but it says, bought all three boxes just in case I miss them in the future

OOS at Adelaide currently. Estimated back in stock 19/10

    • Now it shows: Out of stock. Expected to be back 20 Oct. 2024 - 27 Oct. 2024

  • +1

Needed some boxes to store my Lego, now I can even build a village with all the boxes…thanks OP!

  • cart loads of stock at IKEA Richmond (VIC)

  • Thanks OP. Price per piece is extremely cheap, even compared to other basic sets. Bought a bunch.

  • +3

No delivery for the legos, only for the box

    • Same here WA. Says back in a week.

  • How many pieces can the big box fit?

    • Approximately 1400 pieces. I bought 20 boxes of the Lego brick set and after unpacking I was able to fit 7 of those into the big box.

      • Wow. Why did you buy 20?

  • The brick tool must be more than $5 retail

  • +3

Lot of stock at IKEA Springvale, bought few.

  • I I I I IKEA. Anyone? :D

  • +1

Lego sold out? For delivery :(

  • +1

Great deal, only cost me like $250!
Yep fell for the adding other random stuff once I was in the mood to buy :D

  • +1

TY OP probably got 1.5 cubic meters of the storage tubs

  • +2

Thanks @OutOfTime went there yesterday and got a few.

For people in WA, IKEA app says the big box is OOS and you won’t find the kids section upstairs, however, there’s plenty in the top shelves downstairs by the lifts.

    Cheers and happy Friday !!!!

Define plenty.. I made the mistake of ordering click and collect for tomorrow within 20 mins of this deal coming out but I am super worried they have not processed the order until the click and collect date which means they may go out of stock in the meantime.. I notice they are no longer offering postage but they were when I ordered, I have never dealt with IKEA click n collect.. worried everyone who did postage would have taken precedence yesterday.. I guess I will find out 8am tomorrow morning…

      • You should get ready for collection mail on same day.

        That confirms your order.

        • Same day as ordering? I got an order acknowledgment and an invoice but they said I would receive a SMS or email when the item is ready for collection, which I haven't. I selected tomorrow as the click and collect date (rather than today as I don't know if they hold it for x number of days or not).. so sounds like I was right to be concerned if they don't pick the order until today sometime, it will be too late. Which would suck… but fingers crossed I suppose.

          • +2

@sarakoth: Yep. Ordered yesterday for collection tomorrow. Got mail yesterday after an hour of ordering.

            IKEA Logan.

            • @CrypticM: IKEA Perth, and no email as yet since the original one at 10.23am yesterday.

      • +3

Now they’re showing available In Store. Just checked their website.

I should’ve snapped photo, but I would say 20+ of the big boxes just in these shelves, nobody sees these because they’re using as decoration.

Upstairs had lots of the smaller ones, and Lego sets there were 2-3 layers of a pallet upstairs and some downstairs as well.

They’re displaying the boxes like this on the top shelf:
        https://imgur.com/a/i5eKxwY

Never dealt with click and collect as well.

        • Thanks for the extra info…

        • +1

I'm literally in store at Perth now and the staff have told me no more and "they moved them into the one location so they could direct everyone there", but there's still 48 showing in stock (down from about 60 this morning). Which shelves/lifts had the big boxes? The ones when you come down from the restaurant?

TIA - hopefully you see this! 🙏

          • +1

@Kathrifty: Yes the shelves right next to the lifts facing the stairs. You’ll see the top boxes there facing like this https://imgur.com/a/i5eKxwY

Hope they have not changed it overnight, cause I literally purchased 2 of them around 8pm yesterday.

            • @danielglongo: Unfortunately I've walked past those shelves over and over and I can't see that pattern at all 😢 I've got a toddler in a heavy trolley so not the easiest!

There's still 48 in stock so they must be hiding somewhere

              • @Kathrifty: Oh no !!!! Really. Bummer

There was no stock available on their site/app yesterday, and I managed to find these ones, they must have changed it last night for sure.

                😢

              • @Kathrifty: I refreshed the page at 5pm (Perth time) and it finally said the large box was OOS. Also the medium size too! At 5pm there were small ones supposedly available but I'm not going to bother to check now.

Snagged myself a medium box and the small set, and 2 medium boxes for friends…though original plans were to buy a large box and block set for each of 4 friends, a full combo for myself (don't actually have Lego for the kiddo yet 😅) and 2 large boxes for my mum (for when babysitting aforementioned toddler). Oh well, I didn't hurry myself there this morning so my fault!

        • So pissed off with IKEA. I am supposed to be picking them at 8am tomorrow and still no text or email and status is still "packing your order". I bet you they just let everyone come into the store buying up all the stock and then gone, oh too bad you ordered two days ago, there are none left now. So I have no idea if I should be heading all the way out there first thing tomorrow or not.

          • @sarakoth: Did you end up getting your order?

            • +1

@Humotin: I didn't risk going out there at 8am and have had something on all day but did call and initially was told to just go there and they will pick the order when I get there. So I explained that they are now sold out, so they checked again and apparently it is there and 15 mins later I got the email and SMS. Will have to go out there tomorrow and see if it actually is, or how much of it. Fingers crossed. Supposedly they were just to busy to send me the notification??

            • +3

@Humotin: Happy to report that thankfully and surprisingly my click and collect order was all there. I assume that they did actually pick it on Thursday and just didn't send me notification for some reason. So I glad given all but the 3 mini boxes has sold out (Perth) afaik. I grabbed an extra 4 of the little set to top up my order.

  • -2

Just got myself 20 sets of the Lego bricks and 10 boxes. Absolute bargain. Just did click and collect which was free for me.

    • is that why its now showing out of stock

  • +1

Update - just collected my click and collect order. For others who are collecting, the C&C counter is not upstairs where the customer service desk is. It is downstairs around the corner from where the pickup/loading car bays are.

Also had a look upstairs for stock levels out of curiosity. There was about 1/2 a pallet of the 3 set of containers, and about 3 boxes of the medium containers. Was told by the CS rep in that area that everything else had sold out.

Sorry forgot to mention that this is for IKEA Perth

  • Just got a refund for my delivery order which I put through pretty quickly yesterday, but no email yet. Oh well 🙃

    • +1

Ah nope, it was commbank returning a duplicate payment to me 😃

  • They seem slow to pack and ship the order.

    • Turns it was shipped but no emails sent to notify.

  • +1

Refunded my order that was placed last friday morning.

    • Refunded most of my click & collect order, that was due for pickup today. Allegedly still stocking the smaller boxes, but not the actual Lego or big box.

  • +1

I picked up a few of these and the boxes. To be honest I cannot wonder how $25 original price would have moved any at all. Even at $5 it's just the spot where I'm like yeah fair pretty ok. Realistic price to me for this would be $3 bucks.

The boxes I do think has some very good use cases for adult LEGO builders to pad up internal structures of a big build they are making.

I honestly feel the LEGO and IKEA partnership was one of the worst and missed opportunities. People aren't going to IKEA to buy toys, they buy furniture and things that decorate and compliment other products, it would have so much more sense for them to design display cases and other specialist shelving for the LEGO range, it would have even fed into other collectible markets where people would have bought it to display their figurines etc.
