    • 1) you need a telstra emplyee to sponsor you
      2) you need to port out to vodafone or optus and then port back in

  • signed up four days ago for their $70 plan, and now want to change it to this, telstra told me theres no cooling off period for the online signup ??? anyone can help?

    • Cooling off periods are generally for when someone has called you, or knocked your door.

    So now that the plan switch is over and my service on changed plan is up and running, it's time to share my little success with this offer.
    - I had a chat with disconnections a month or so ago and they had promised me $20 discount if I chose to renew my 2 year contract (Luckily, I had saved the interaction number)
    - I was in my final month of contract and as luck would have it, stumbled upon this post
    - Thought of having a chat with sales rep from the 24x7 chat option on the offer page. I didn't had much hopes but again got lucky with a awesome rep on the other side who let me get it eventhogh a recontacting customer
    - Called Telstra next day quoting $20 discount interaction I had previously and they applied the $20/month off on top of this deal
    - So I ended up with this plan effectively for just $70/month!!
    I love Telstra!!

    This might be very hard to replicate as I had loads of luck and coincidence go my way. But worth a try if someone has any pre-existing recontacting offers by the disconnections guys. Just be nice and friendly and test your luck. Cheers!

    • Well done. I tried a couple of times to move a prepaid number over to this without success, so will have to go via a port to Optus and back if I want to take it up it seems…

      • Problem with that is some people are on $20/month discounts… Porting would mean loosing those discounts.

        Guess I'll have to give it a go -_- no more special tips?

    Would have been an instabuy for me if it was the S8+

    With the new Note coming later this phone is going to feel a bit teeny on the hand. The S8 already looks small when placed beside the 8+

    Plus, with 25GB I can disconnect my ADSL and save on line rental and home internet.

      You MIGHT be better off on an OPTUS offer as you get free stand def, streaming of netflix. 25gb does not last long streaming!

    I got the phone (S8) today and looks like its locked to Telstra network. I want to sell it without opening the packaging. Can anyone confirm its locked the Telstra?

      Ask on the online chat and let us know? Even if locked, should be a free unlock since it's on a 24mth plan - thought those were usually unlocked as they already have your money

        I've only ever known Telstra to lock their prepaid phones and as far as I can see they don't offer the s8 on prepaid. They do brand every phone they sell though except iPhones.

    • The S8 is fully unlocked.

      I got this answer from their live chat:
      "I can confirm that all units of Samsung Galaxy S8 is already unlocked with our network. That means you can use it with other SIM anytime and anywhere."

    Telstra, pretty please include a bundle for the S8+ and a combo for bundling home broadband, line rental and this.

      The Telstra offer does not need you to be 'adding' and additional service to an exisiting account.

    The 'New Phone Feeling' appears to be available on this plan. Sooo you can start with whichever phone you like on this plan, and use the New Phone Feeling in 12 months time to upgrade to iPhone 8 for $150.
    Do I understand this correctly?

      As far I know, you can share data between any combination of Personal plans. I added this plan for myself, and now my data limit is shared between the two Telstra plans.

      As long as you and your partner are on the same post paid billing account (BAN) and both your plans start with "GO" eg. Go Mobile Plus, Go Mobile Plus BYO then yes the data will pooled into one amount and shared between any and all services on that BAN.

      If you are going to do this if you want your partner to have access to the account you will need to authorize them as a user or authority on the account.

    Just letting everyone know there has been an update to a few of the T&C's regarding this offer.

    1) No longer restricted to 5 connections per employee.
    2) No longer required to capture employee number as part of the order
    3) We are allowed to share with family and friends via social media. Thus the update post.

      • No. Not needed if your taking up this deal on $90 p/month. The Customer advisor, in store, over the phone or online can provision it for you.

        • I tried online and I had a few chats with 7x24 agents. I have to quote Telstra Employee ID to satisfy that eligibility. Very strange. Can you send me the new T&Cs link for that offer. Much appreciated.

        Since you don't accept new Pm's as i have advised multiple users via Pm, new T&C's sent out in internal Comms that all staff with access to it are able to read. So i cannot post a link to it. But whatever 24/7 agent u speak to ask them to check their retaillive inbox for update of T&C's stating clearly employee ID is not required to "satisfy that eligibility".

    • Won't work if you are currently on Telstra prepaid. As a Prepaid-Postpaid is not counted as a new connection (weird i know). Also what do you mean by a "sponsor" by Telstra employee?

      • dont need a sponsor now it seems. you do need to port out and back in if your on prepaid

  • Anyone have any luck trying for discounts for this specific offer (rather than making them honour prior offers)? I've tried going in store and the chat but the flat response is that this deal is already too good.

  • Just so everyone is aware that is applying for this offer, unless you are a permanent employee of Telstra you will not be eligible for the 25% Staff discount.
    The discount is applied to the employees personal account and it's use is audited. Also it can only be added by a special team within Telstra in which the employee must apply to for the discount. The discount is also removed once the employee leaves the company.

    • You cannot be "sponsored" for the Discount.
    • Any discounts ontop of this plan are not eligible.

    You can however take up this offer for the full $90 price if you are connecting a new service or porting in from another provider.

    • Telstra pre-paid or existing post-paid mobile services are not eligible.

    I managed to recontract with new phone feeling for $149 online but I got $20 valued customer bonus carried over. Sales won't help but Saves team done a terrific job pushing the order with VCB.

    • How did you get that $20 bonus, initially, if you don't mind me asking?

      • I initially have 2 years ago when Telstra was giving it away easily if you sign up for Mobile Accelerate $95 plan. I just asked the disconnection nicely if I can keep it if I recontract for another 2 years. The bloke just asked his supervisor and without hesitation he finalized the online order with the discount included.

  • I went in store yesterday and it was extended till 30th of june- new services only i believe

    • I tried in store prior the online order but store don't have access to do recontracting order. I used Chrome to do the online order. It will give option to keep your Telstra number.

      • You are right. Wonder will they cancel the early plan termination fee too?

        • I used the new phone feeling which costed me $149. You can try the disconnection team but you have to be less than 12 months remaining in contract to have bargaining power. They pretty helpful than sales.

    Which is awesome, cos I'm already a Telstra postpaid customer and kept my number.
    Also didn't have to put in any name of a Telstra friend.
