  • The is part of the reply I got when I raised a support ticket. I purchased mine on 20th May and it was dispatched 23rd May.

    "
Based on tracking it shows that parcel landed Australia on 2017-06-05 and was handled to Aust post for delivery on 2017-06-07 via a non tracking parcel. The estimated delivery by then could take around 7-15 working days.

Please be assured we had dispatched the items on time from our end but do not have much control over parcels in transit while they are under AU Post handling.

We have recently received an advise from our courier that they have encountered delays in processing of our parcels and most parcels from the dispatched date are being delivered recently. We kindly request you to provide another week to see if the order will turn up as we believe it is still currently in transit.

If in case you still did not receive the items by then please simply reply us back and we will provide you with a solution immediately.

Again our apologies for any inconvenience caused."

    • Mine hasn't arrived, ordered 20th May.

    • Thanks, I'll wait another week.

    • I got the same reply and it is nearly a week since I got this reply. Damn, this is the longest I ever wait for a parcel coming from China.

    PayPal claim activated

  • still waiting for delivery :-(

  • Ordered 21st May 2017 and dispatched on 24th May 2017. Still waiting. Is it time to open paypal dispute?

  • Mine not arrived but they claimed posted a month ago and landed in Australia 7 June….does it take a month for Auspost to deliver a battery?

I undetstand batteries not allowed to be carried by air?

  • Still haven't received it. This is appalling.

  • I've been emailing back and forth with their customer service team and they have advised they'll issue me a refund as long as I sign some agreement about having to send the item back if it happens to arrive after the refund has been issued. Just thought I'd share with everyone as that is probably faster than a paypal dispute. The wording is a bit vague as to who has to pay for the return shipping so I added my own wording, advising them that I would be more than happy to send the item back at their expense.

    • +1

There's got to be a limit on how something can take to arrive though - seriously! Seven weeks! Is it coming by boat, and horse and cart?

    • +1

I said happy to let them know if I received it, but not going to sign a legal contract. They still insist, so my position is that I would need to seek legal advice to review the contract, I estimate around AUD$200 for the solicitor. See what they say. I don't see the point of the legal agreement unless they intend to sue us individually for damages?

I have already in writing agreed to let them know if I get the item, presumably I will just return it to sender, or they pay for postage.

I have tried their tracking number, it seems generic and fake to be honest.

Will go through PayPal next monday if I can't get anywhere…

Edit: thinking further, is this a tactic to make us think they really did post the item when they didn't? This is my first non-receipt for a while. Had one other case was a dodgy eBay seller who got suspended.

      • I got my refund.

        • Any catches in the Missing in Transit agreement form? How long did the refund take to go into your account? They said they'd send me a form but nothing seen in my email.

        • @Swarlee: No catches, just an agreement to send the item back if it happens to arrive after the refund has been issued. I just added my own wording to ensure if I do send the item back, it will be at their expense.
I got my refund in my PayPal account within 48 hours to emailing them the form. It's certainly faster than a PayPal dispute.

        • @sparathecat:

Added your own wording as in to the document itself or via their customer service message?

        • @Swarlee: to the doc that I signed but I also advised it via message on the website.

        • @sparathecat:

It's a pdf I've tried editing it for a few mins now no luck

        • +1

@Swarlee: try dochub! Let's you sign electronically too

        • +1

          @sparathecat:

          Done. Thanks heaps!

        • +1

          @Swarlee:

          Thus refund crap is BS!

In the last 7 weeks there have been a number if sales on ebay where I would have bought this battery but held off cause of this purchase.

Now I got to buy again at a higher price.

    • +4

So their parcels of battery has been help/rejected by Aust Post, yet they don't forward this information to people who made purchases…

      That just poor customer service…

    • Are you going to go for their 'gentlemens agreement' or stick with the PayPal process given the lack of proactive communication with their customers?

    • +1

Keep the Paypal dispute open until you receive your refund. If you close it you will not be able to reopen it. And no you do not need to sign that worthless piece of paper.

  • Opened a Paypal dispute yesterday, today got pretty much the same generic email above less tracking details. Also got their "humble request" to close the dispute. Yeah nah…

  • Has anyone signed their gentleman's agreement form and received a refund or should I escalate to paypal?

    • I haven't signed mine as yet. I'm just going to wait for PayPal to step in on my behalf and ask them to refund me the money.

    • +2

Just sign it, get your money back and move on. Keep your PayPal dispute open though until you see the money in your account.

      The agreement is meaningless anyway.

    • I did but added my own wording about sending it back at their expense. Refund received the next day.

  • I opened a PayPal dispute. They then emailed me and said they have contacted me through the shopping square website and opened a customer service ticket as a result of the PayPal dispute.

The username was my eBay name and I had to request a password reset to my email associated with the eBay account to get in and read the support ticket at the shopping square website. Told them I'd read the tracking supplied and that the tracking stopped at Australia and that I'd screenshot the tracking and forwarded to PayPal.

They say we'll email the form which I signed but amended using nitro pdf which matches fonts and everything to state "seller agrees to cover all return shipping costs".

2 days later they refund me through PayPal and the claim closed automatically. Fin.

Form is worth as much as a pinky promise but it got my money back and they have to pay return costs in case

    • Yeah the form they give me doesn't have that and I politely ask them to amend it and his reply show his wasn't happy to do it and so far I've still havent receive the amended form for me to sign. I'll wait for a couple of days before i escalate to paypal. Damn I'm disppointed.

      • You should be fine with the PayPal dispute. Just ask if there has been any issues with customs in their customer service portal. If they give a reply that confirms problems with delivery due to customs prohibiting batteries, as they've stated to other ozbarginers, screen shot the response, browser and all and then file the claim and attach that screenshot. I've never been able to attach images after starting a claim so do this first. The visual evidence will speed up the process and get your claim sorted out. Makes the PayPal employee's job an open and shut case so to speak.

  • still waiting, sent 3 emails no replies,

open paypal dispute get a response, asking to close paypal dispute.

contacted aust post the item hasn't arrived in the country yet.

get sent 'gentlemens agreement email' still no eta

refused to sign gentlemens agreement still no tracking.

i'm curious if they have no tracking how can they track the item?

  • +1

Finally receive my replacement Power Bank today.

    1. Started with sending them a customer support ticket.
    2. Asked to sign the "Missing In Transit Agreement Form" (which I edited using DocHub stating that they will pay any expense relating to return postage).
    3. Was asked if I wish to proceed with a replacement or refund.
    4. Responded with:
      > If it's from Sydney Warehouse I'll take a replacement.
      > If it's from Hong Kong Warehouse I'll take a refund.
    5. Was advised that the replacement item will be dispatched from the Sydney warehouse which I accepted, and received the Power Bank within the week

Hopefully everyone else got a refund/replacement.

    • This Missing in Transit Agreement Form is a lot of bullcrap. If they did send the item more than 7 weeks ago, why will they take anyone's word that the battery pack has not been received? (Not that I don't believe you RichardL) If in fact they sent ALL the battery packs, and a lot haven't received the item, they should stand their ground and send a communication that the item was indeed sent. Something's not right. A lot of hours have been wasted refreshing this page hoping a rep from this horrible company will have the guts to say what really happened with the orders.

      • From this comment, it appears that Shopping Square are aware that most, if not all, didn't receive their power bank due to Australian Post holding/rejecting delivery due to restriction in sending battery items.

Still very poor communication from Shopping Square, not issuing any information publicly, and only honouring/resolving orders once a ticket is submitted.

    anyone got theirs yet?

whoever posted this deal should be measured and shot at dawn with no pay

    • +1

A little harsh there. I have received other orders from shopping square but not this one unfortunately.

      • +2

It's not the OPs fault, but maybe companies that treat customers the way these guys have should have deals blocked on here for 12 months. I certainly won't make a purchase from shopping square ever again.

I wonder how many people have lodged PayPal disputes to recover their money?

      • honestly so have i, and this is probably why i'm a bit pissed about this one.

i'm going OS shortly as wanted to get another power bank before i left AU.

ended up biting the bullet and paying full price from Kogan for one, just for guaranteed delivery.

        • I've since grabbed one from a local ebay seller with a good rating for about $26.50 - it arrived in a few days and passed the 'authenticity' test.

        • @fookos: any chance you could share the seller?

wouldn't mind having a back up one.

          cheers in advance

  • Refunded, it took over a week of emails and signing the agreement, I had to threaten a Paypal dispute as they kept on trying to blame the courier.

    • If anyone else is in the same boat don't be concerned about lodging the full dispute with PayPal. Don't wait any longer. You won't wait long as apus will refund you asap to close the dispute. Better to formally log disputes and get it on record that these guys are shonky!

  • Yeah, logging a dispute now. Still no product… :@

  • +3

Opened PayPal dispute, immediately got a reply from shopping square to sign the gentleman's agreement. Told them I didn't feel comfortable signing it and asked for a refund or replacement. SS then ignored my messages and I had no choice but to escalate the PayPal dispute.

As a business that gets so much attention and many sales from ozbargain, their approach to everyone on the deal is unacceptable. I, personally, think the store should be banned for ~6 months or deals should contain a disclaimer to warn prospective buyers.

  • Got the same response as everyone else, shopping square asked me to sign the form which I declined. Opened a PayPal dispute, Shopping Square ignored for a week. Escalated yesterday and received a refund form shopping square today.

  • +1

Strange that you guys didn't get yours. I got mine ages ago. It probably got stuck at customs. Difficult to import these things now.

  • What a joke.. I've escalated to paypal. I've sent multiple communications to SS for 2 weeks and no response.

  • Still haven't received anything yet. Decided to bite the bullet and sign the agreements form given that the replacement item comes from the Sydney warehouse and if the original item arrives that they will cover the cost of shipping.

    • UPDATE: I received an email stating that the item has been sent out from their Sydney warehouse with an Aus post tracker number. The number however doesn't seem to work. Tired of waiting. Will force a paypal dispute if the item does not arrive by the end of the week.
