When did you raise the prices ?

  • Thats been the pricing from conception JV-

thnx… throw in free postage and i'll give you a "+"

      • +1

        :-)
My family need shelter and food…I cant give it away JV.

        • -2

Then i guess I'll never taste yours to see if i like it…

I'll just stock up on the ones they sell at the Mornington market next month… They're not too bad…

          • @jv: You're only doing yourself a disservice then dude! ;)

not too bad doesn't sound like a vote of confidence either! :p

            • @StewBalls: well when i add postage, the geronimo ones would sell about twice the price i could get them from the stall… the ones at the market are nice… that's what "not too bad" means (at least that's what it means to me)…
the market ones are definitely a lot better than the supermarket ones…

              • @jv: Jeez the stall must be cheap then! I can't find any cheaper, good or bad! :o

FWIW, when you order a fair bit the shipping seems to top out @ $15, could BC please confirm if there is a shipping cap? ;)

                • -1

@StewBalls: i wouldn't order large amounts, the shipping cost is prohibitive for the smaller packets…

                • @StewBalls: Yes Stew it is capped off at $15 Also please email me so I can get you some samples.

                  • @GeronimoJerky: Cheers mate, will do…it's orderin' time! ;)

[edit] Done, 2.5kg of my favourite jerky + samples comin' my way, yummo! :D

              • @jv: "Not to bad" generally means average to bearable imo. Not nice….I mean "Nice" means "Nice"

If you thought it was nice, why didn't you say it was instead of "not to bad".

                Sigh.

                • @m0tyrider: lol. because i wasn't writing my comment with you in mind…

          • +1

@jv: I can give you a free bumper sticker :-)

  • I like beef jerky, but is Geronimo really that good? I never received a sample at conception nor the 2nd time when asked to email "the big chief". I'm not begging for a sample but I can’t hand my money to a business that preaches empty promises.

    • -1

Yeah, it really is that good! Best jerky I have ever tasted, period! :D

I've tried a hell of a lot too, biltong, gourmet deli, international stuff, local markets & butchers who all produce their own; none have even come close IMHO! Oh, don't even try that supermarket Jack Links stuff, it's woeful! ;)

      • jack links also has MSG…

        • +1

Good thing ours has no artificial flavours or preservatives in it:-)

  • Hi Big Chief, any chance of throwing in a few free samples for Ozbargainers with order…namely me! I haven't tried the new flavours yet, would love to give them a go! ;)

  • +4

yeah i love beef jerky but i absolutely have no interest in these guys anymore, i suggest they just stop posting on here until they get serious

    • Why because of the high prices? or the cost of postage?

    • Get serious about what, running a business, selling a quality product, or offering a reasonable discount from time to time? :?

And yeah, that neg on your comment is mine! ;)

      • why?

        • Well, I did posit three valid reasons (in question form) why Geronimo should continue to post on OzB, none of which seem to have been considered by kwaker before posting a minor rant! ;)

I'm also willing to man-up to my negs! :p

    • Kwaker?
You have never contacted us or communicated with us yet you bag us???
I have looked at your history and there is no involvment-

Are you just having a bad?

      • If I interpret it correctly, Kwaker (and those who +ve the comment, including myself) are referring to the samples which were offered, requested and never received.

I, personally, have bought a fair quantity of your product, and am highly impressed. However, I was one of those whose promise of a sample was broken at your business's inception on OzBargain. It's done awful things to your reputation.

        • I don't think there's enough information in Kwaker's comment to interpret dude! It's so vague it's almost a troll, a meandering rant at best! ;)

Notice s/he never followed it up, couldn't have been too serious about Geronimo getting serious! Since you agree with Kwaker, how's about you tell us how they should accomplish this? Especially given you're already "highly impressed" with the product! :p

    men and there jerky

    • +1

      jerking is pleasurable…

  • I still havnt recieved my sample :p

    hahah :D

Good jerky nonetheless :D Having said that I make my own jerky :p

    • +1

      How ?

      (no, that isn't a Geronimo joke…)

      • -1

It's not that difficult to make, it's just tricky to make it good! I can't, I've tried (oven, dehydrator), so now I just buy it from people who do it well! ;)

My dehydrator now gets used solely for fruit! ;)

[edit] Man, I got negged for drying out fruit??? Damn you vegans are getting militant now! :p

      • WD JV

  • as a jerker from way back, i want to try geronimo … i like it spicy, but not at the expense of flavour, any recommendations?

    • Depends how spicy you like it, I've tried the original three flavours, Original, Spicy Shaman & Blazing Saddle; I liked them all, but my missus isn't so tolerant of chilli, so the milder but very flavoursome Spicy Shaman was a big hit with both of us, I still like to break out the Blazing Saddle too! ;)

I'm really looking forward to trying the three newer flavours, I'll report back on them when I've sampled them all if you like! ;)

FWIW, I'm not affiliated with Geronimo in any way, save for being a very happy customer! That said, I've not found better, or cheaper, jerky anywhere…and I've been diligent in looking! I got caught a while back, a deli in Lane Cove was selling some African stuff (forget the name) as the best "jerky" in the world, hands down; I bought a few samples…let me tell you, it was well over the $120/kg mark, and it was putrid; yeah, you could survive on it, but I wouldn't call that living!!! :p

  • also, are the options to combine postage?

  • Big Chief, why don't you offer paypal express checkout? I don't want to have to sign up just buy 1.25kg of jerky.

    • Other posters complain of spamming once they signed up.
      Perhaps that's why…

      • Which other posters? I've seen nobody else on here complaining of spam. I never got spammed, nor did my friends or family members that signed up!

Frankly jv, your arguments have always degenerated into a personal smear campaign against Geronimo; this isn't the first time you've done it either, in this thread:
        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/18895#comment
I recall you complaining about licencing of the Apache logo, the poster girl competition & website being sexist, & spelling mistakes, among other petty things!

Seriously, what the hell is your issue with them???

  • Hey GeronimoJerky,

I purchased a 1kg bag and a few other smaller ones awhile ago and unfortunately the 1kg bag ended up broken in transit and wasted (rather damp on arrival). Was simply wondering if i ordered another batch would I at your discretion…. etc lol >.>

    • So, hang on a minute…you ordered something "awhile ago" that was damaged in transit…please tell me this isn't the first time & forum in which you've chosen to contact the supplier to inform them of this?

I've had this happen with many different types of deliveries, the normal course of action is to contact the retailer first & foremost; and I've never had a single one fail to rectify the problem, it's nobody's fault, just a fact of life with the "mailorder" business model! ;)

      • Agreed StewBalls-I like constructive critisism and fault reporting-Its how we improve our busisness…..If I dont hear anything I dont know there is a prob..I had one person who did tell me they had issues with packaging so I opted for the dearer packaging (boxes) someone else wanted better tracking so we now have Eparcel…

        We do listen :-)

        Regards,

        Mark

    • PTFFFFFFFF………….All Product is boxed now and kilo bags are more then often double wrapped…Let me know when you order again and I will see what I can do to put a smile on your face…..

  • Whats the chance of getting a free sample? Im a jerky enthusiast however a little late to the Gerinomo Party.
