I thought they just bought the rights from The Funpimps (Developers) last year to get it out on consoles and add some stuff like skins later.
FunPimps are still very much in control of the PC version.
I've been playing the PC version for a few years and it's still my favourite game. Still in early access, but I'm enjoying the way the game slowly evolves over time. The next Alpha (16) is going to be so much fun.
If anyone is keen on the PC version, don't pay full price. The various stores often have it on sale for $9.99 US.
I had a read, TT are publishing for consoles as they can add the walking dead content, dlc, and charge more.
