They've been $6 for over a month. Any idea if they are really closing?

considering the Sun will continue to get hotter as it ages, boiling our oceans in approximately 1-2 billion years, then I'd say they are in the process of closing

They close each night. I suspect it's a bit like the tourist trap place near the corner of George and Hunter Streets, that's been "closing down prices" for many years now.

  • It'll probably continue till they are out of stock.

  • Seems like the normal sort of prices expected of a remainder outlet. Any particular bargain?

  • What are their opening hours?

    • i think around 830am to 6pm, i have seen it open at these times

same thing at their melbourne locations

      • The one in Prahran is $6 too, but a new $10 one has popped up on Eliz. St…

Like Ishka, "closing down sale" seems to be their thing.

        • haha yep! I had a look in the South Yarra one a few weeks back. The lady said they're getting different stock all the time and to pop in every week or so to check out the new books. For $6 there's definitely some cheap deals but it's definitely not a limited bargain. Don't think this "closing down sale" will ever end

Anytime one of these close, it seems another opens a street away.

Closing down the Valley metro for almost 2 years now, pure bait!

Their shops do close down and other ones spring up. The cost of the books is pretty good. It is worth going in to look at the stock if you are passing by. I've bought a couple from them.

    • I've got a couple of good reads too, but figured the "closing down" was a bit of a stretch.

      • We had a store in Richmond that sold chandeliers that was closing down for years, the sign that was painted on the window was peeling. The best sign I ever saw was a shoe shop that had a sign that said "our annual closing down sale" - I thought it was hilarious.

  • Yep, my local Book Grocer has been closing down for over 6 months. I found a few interesting non-fictions there a long while ago, but haven't seen anything good in mine for a while.

Yes, this is a bargain price so I would not vote negative. However as pointed out by other members above, $6 is their regular price.

  • There is another closing down (Book Store) SALE in Burwood Westfield.

All books are for 5$ and they had huge collection of books when I saw last weekend.

Not sure of the level but it is next to (Kmart / Target)

    Thanks
