Was looking around for a lens adaptor for Canon EF to Sony FE with reasonable auto focus and B&H currently have $100 USD off the normal price of Sigma MC-11 bringing it down to $149 USD + postage.

Cheapest local price I could find was $319 from dcxpert.

And for the one person that shoots Sigma mount lenses they also have the SA to FE adaptor for the same price - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1234035-REG/sigma_89s…

Not sure when this pricing ends.

May not work, or not work very well, with various lens/body combinations.

So it is compatible with Sony A6000? What is a good lens fit with this adapter for landscape and portrait around $500 mark?

    • Take this $220 + ur lens budget of $500 and buy an emount lens for $720.
This is primarily for people who have existing glass that they want to use on their new body

Edit (additional note): Before people comment, yes this is also for people who want to use a specific lens that is perhaps not available for their mount.

      • I spoke to a TED guy and he does not recommend getting adapters as it is slow for auto focus.

Anyway, I was thinking of getting a wide angle lens, but Sony brand are so expensive.

          yep - I posted this below;

There is always going to be a sacrifice when using these types of adaptors, most of the time it will be slightly unreliable auto focus, there are also marginal IQ losses (soft edges, and additional vignetting - though that is easily removed in post). Unfortunately that's the price you have to pay for not having to re-buy all ur existing glass for a different mount.

I am going to travel OS next month and are looking for more of a wide angle lens. Currently have a stock lens and Sony sel50f18.

        • @beall: I have this lens - albeit, branded as Samyang. I took it with me when I went OS a couple of years back.

I'm very happy with it. If you are looking for a wide angle lens for the a6000, you can't go far wrong with this one - especially for the price.

    • No, the AF is not useable with the a6000. Only a6300/500 and a7II/rII have useable AF. Also ignore what the other posters have said, if you have the correct body then having Canon lenses is virtually just as good as native glass and there are definite advantages (much larger variety, much cheaper etc).

No Sony mirrorless nor Sigma Lens but I really want one.

  • This is good price. It works well with art lens. It also works with some canon lens.

  • Damn just bought one from Ebay 2 days ago for $278 shipped (with 10% voucher I get from ebay). From Local store in Melbourne.

  • Thanks! Been looking for one for a while

  • I had the metabones adaptor that came with my A7 by redemption. Was really slow with AF or failed to AF on the Canon lenses I tried. Ended up selling it along with my Canon lenses. Any idea if the Sigma adaptor is better?

    • No better if you are using the first gen A7 bodies.

This adapter only really benefits if you use A7II, A7RII, A6300/A6500 etc.

    • I bought a really cheap fotox (or something) one on ebay for a couple of dollars. I tried it on my Nex6, and found that it was pretty much useless.

    • Which metabones was it? mk 4? I ask because it's wildly accepted that the mk 4 is the best adaptor currently (also the most expensive).
Apparently the sigma adaptor is as good as the metabones mk4 when you are only using sigma lenses. There is always going to be a sacrifice when using these types of adaptors, most of the time it will be slightly unreliable auto focus, there are also marginal IQ losses (soft edges, and additional vignetting - though that is easily removed in post). Unfortunately thats the price you have to pay for not having to re-buy all ur existing glass for a different mount.
