    Has anyone had any issues booking through Bestjet? Seems like they're always able to offer the cheapest prices.

      If you're concerned try getting someone like Flight Centre to price match. Sometimes Qantas will too, I've never tried though.

      I've used them a few times, no problems. Only downside is that they're one of the websites that don't automatically confirm, so could take a few hours for your flight(s) to be confirmed.

    Malaysian airlines also has $650 from Perth (via KL).

    Where do you guys stay in Hong Kong? I am hoping to get something reasonable around the $100-$150 mark. I don't mind if its out of town as long as its connected to a decent shopping centre and subway.

      Might be at the upper end of your range - but we've stayed at Lodgewood (by L'hotel) in Mongkok. Very comfortable and close to the most vibrant areas (IMHO) of Kowloon. Top notch public transport nearby and you don't need to spend a fortune to get well fed.

      If you want to go really cheap. Walk around Chungking Mansion in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. Right near the water/shops/everything. Should be able to get $20-30 a night, every second person there will offer you accommodation. These are pretty much all single rooms with 2 beds in them and a small bathroom. Not for everyone, but acceptable for cheap, better than hostels.

          The night I spend in Chungking mansion was awful

          Definitely spend the extra money to stay somewhere more civilised

      Last time I've checked (a few weeks back) the Accor hotel chain do have something around your budget, from memory one is the airport hotel and the other is in Wan Chai area or North Point but if you been to HK before for as along you are on the MTR line everything is bloody convenient!

      We normally stay at Eaton Smart or Nathan hotel both in walking distance to Jordan MTR station. Affordable and convenient access to shops and food. Used Eaton's price beat by 20% policy a few times (not sure if they still have it).

    What do you think the lowest I could get for Brisbane to LAX October 31 to November 21 2017 is? Fiji airways is cheap but has that long layover.

      I'd wait a few months until sales pop up around that date, usually around 3-4 months out. Should be able to get $900 or so on Virgin/Air NZ/Qantas.
