Totally agree. The grape flavour is best, followed closely behind by Dr Pete.
Dr Pepper rip off?
We just use it for soda water.
Is it worth upgrading from my cheap plastic machine?
Yeah, Dr Pete is their Dr Pepper analogue.
Upgrading if you only use it for soda water? Probably not worth it. But why would you need to "upgrade" - syrup is syrup. If you've got something that makes bubbly water there's nothing stopping you adding a different syrup?
Wait… didnt they used to stock it? Also sars? or am I imagining things?
About a year ago now they dropped like 80% of their range. They used to do way way way more flavours.
Yep they ditched all their good flavours, it really disappoints me now
Diet Dr Pete was one of my great joys in life. Then it went away…
Anyone know where you can get 1l glass bottles? A bit annoying you have to replace the plastic bottles
You don't have to replace their bottles just because there is a date printed on the bottle. I have found that unless you physically damage them they can be safely used and presurised. I have bottles in use daily that are way way beyond the printed 'date' on the bottle. Naturally it is your choice and I am not saying to use the bottles beyond the stated date if you do not choose to, I accept no responsibility for your actions. I am simply making a personal observation that mine have not leaked, exploded or in any way not performed normally.
I was wondering if it was something to do with the plastic starting to break down after that time?! Don't really want plastic leeching into my water is all :/
It is possible but I don't think so, I believe that it is more to do with it being technically a pressure vessel with multi use design, as distinct from the factory presurised plastic bottles that have strict pressure controls. I may be wrong.
edit: I just found this on the sodastream website (see frequently asked questions), it seems to answer the leaching question:
Phthalates and PCBs: SodaStream does not use any materials in the production process that can produce phthalates or PCBs.
Bisphenol-A (BPA): SodaStream does not use polycarbonate materials, and therefore our products are free of this chemical compound.
The website emphasises physical damage i.e. chipped, scratched or temperature affected (bottles put into a dishwasher, freezer etc) bottles need to be discarded and hence my belief that the pressure integrity is the issue.
@Reddog888: awesome! That means I don't need to buy any more! Thanks :)
Thanks OP. Ordered some stuff.

Think they are classed as 20 or 40 LTR gas, but all depends on how fizzy you like it
I wish they stocked Dr Pete.
