I think your calculator broke ;)
    More like AUD$360?

  • Anyone had any experience with the operating system? Or is it android?

  • had I not recently bought a Galaxy Tab S2 second hand, I would be very interested in one of these (probably once the price drops a little more).
Marshmallow is a good upgrade from the 5.1 Android, and dual boot (to me). 4gb of ram is nice.

the s2 is superior to this

watched a review of this tablet recently on techtablets.com https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cU-HYwHn7VM

I think it's overpriced, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 has around the same specs for about $100~ less and can dual-boot into Win10.

edit: also careful some sites lie, the MediaTek on this Mi Pad 3 cannot boot into full version windows

    • yeah seems to be a "downgrade" with the mediatek but I dont know much about mediatek's SoC.

at least it has more storage and RAM and bigger battery which is nice, but still no Micro SD card.

      • SOC is more of a sidegrade, but MTK cpu is less open so overall not a good idea for rom support which is important for these type of tablets, the GPU is dissapointing it is weaker than before, very much mid low range in 2017

And previously comments on the mipad 2 said it was inferior to the original which was packing Tegra K1, a powerful GPU.

What's with Xiaomi downgrading their SoCs in later gen hardware? They do this with the Redmi line also.

        • Maybe they'll do "Pro" versions with significant hardware upgrade like with Redmi Note 3 series

        • @Diji1: I hope so. I'm really hanging out for a new tablet, and I like the stuff that Xiaomi make.

        Link?

        • u missed the deal it was on this site about one week ago. The 5inch redmi4x was 143aud and the 5.5inch note4x was 200aud

for an extra 70 bucks u can buy an ipad 2017, much better apps, better warranty, bigger screen too

    • that is an odd comparison. why not compare to the iPad mini? I personally prefer the ~8 inch size

      • ipad mini 3 is pretty expensive

        • It's been discontinued. You can get a 2 or 4 but not a 3, which is just a 2 with built in fingerprint scanner. Not sure why Apple didn't offer the 3 at the price of the 2, and discontinue the 2 instead.

They're going to have Samsung's problem of what happened to Note 6 and 7?

  • If only I can put MIUI on FNF iFive Mini 4s

    • It's android… just replace the launcher…

      MIUI Lite Launcher

      MIUI Express launcher

    • I'm not sure about FNF, but Xiaomi send out regular updates. And chances are, with their flagship products, Xiaomi will upgrade the devices to later versions of Android.

      • They've had 3 firmware updates since release with the most recent a few weeks ago.

        • Interesting. Are FNF a popular brand in China or something?

        • @flaminglemon: They used to be really big 3-4 years ago but dropped from the face of the earth for a while and started releasing Phoenix OS tablets in China. They've jumped back into the international market recently.

        • @Clear: Interesting. Never heard of these guys.

Price-wise, that FNF is reeeeeeally tempting, but I'm going to pass. I haven't heard enough about these guys, and I can't find a whole lot of articles or support.

        • @flaminglemon: You'll find more results searching for iFive. This was a beast back in the day

        • @Clear: Nice. I'll do some digging.

  • I had an order for one, but cancelled due to the mediatek thing.

Everyone says because it is mediatek it won't be well supported for custom roms, and there's no way I want to stick with miui.
