The HUD that's now $45.00 from $99.00 'For Club Members' was $39.00 for anyone at all, 2 weeks ago. I grabbed one then and it's since sold out.
Pretty average effort there for 'Club Members' Supercheap.

    • How is the HUD? Any major pros and cons ?

Got it for the wife's car as I use the HUD in the Sygic GPS app on my phone, so I have not used it much.
This is what I have experienced so far…

Installation was dead easy. Plugged straight into the port which is located near the bonnet release in her car.
HUD took maybe 45 seconds to register with the car and do its thing and it was ready to go.
Reflective screen was easy to apply to the windscreen and does an awesome job of showing the display in full daylight. Obviously no issues at night.
It gives a lot of info from the car computer and it's all easy to read and alarms such as speed and driver rest reminder all work fine and were easy to tweak to what she wanted.

Her speedo is about 4k's too fast and this shows that too, so until we get her speedo adjusted, she knows that she's doing 4 k's under what it's saying.

During the day, the speed display was just o.k to read without the reflective bit in place, but like I said earlier, it's awesome with it on.
Slip mat works and the thing does not move at all on it, which is great as we are in the country and have some rough roads.

I put it in the very right corner, so it's not in her direct line of sight. Very easy to glance at it and still have eyes on the road. You notice the difference when you look down at your speedo.

        It's only b&w, but meh… It was $39.00.

Would not have paid the RRP of $99.00 as I'd look at ones that had GPS in them for speed at that price point.

Wife loves it and I'd look into a GPS model if I did not use my Sygic HUD already.

        • Hey Rattle, unless you know for a fact that your wife's speedo is under, I wouldn't draw conclusions so fast. The HUD reading is not usually correct, which is why they usually include a setting that allows you to alter the speed so it matches your speedometer.

      • In my car it is garbage. It works well, does all the read outs you could ever need, butt the cable is on the wrong side of the device for my car and it's stiff to curve it around. It's a flat cable instead of round.

The major draw back in both my car and in my wife's car is the massive radio interference it gets going. I thought it was just my car or a bad connection, so I tried it on hers and it's just as bad. Changing stations did nothing. Didn't try it with CD/MP3/Bluetooth, so can't comment on them…

To save people looking through this expecting a bargain like me just now. No deal - usual catalogue sales are better value.

  • I was going to ask about the Dashcams, but it seems I need to keep looking. Don't need top of the line, just reliable and useful.

    • i bought this

      https://www.zapals.com/viofo-a119-1440p-car-dash-camera-64gb…

there is a newer version that performs better in low light as well if you need that for about $30-40 more
if you google it three are plenty of reviews and most "dashcam sites" recommend it as the "best value for money" option

      • Or he could even pay under 50 and get the A118c

        • How is A118C compare to A119 ? Worth Spending $60-70 for A119 ?

  • Dang… missed out on some pit crew shirts… sold out whilst in the shopping cart… oh well…
