48x Double Length Recycled Toilet Paper Rolls for $20 + Delivery @ Who Gives a Crap

963

Pay what you want (minimum $20) for your first delivery of "Who Gives A Crap" recycled toilet paper.

The promotion runs from now until Earth Day (Saturday 22nd of April) or until stock runs out.

Normal subscription price is $48. Rolls are 3-ply, double length, so they work out to 25c per 100 sheets at the full subscription price.

They also have tissues and paper towel available (not part of this deal), although if you add tissues or paper towel to your cart it looks like you can also apply the TP4EVA coupon for $10 off.

Not sure if a $30 minimum is required for free delivery with this promotion as my cart total was over $30 anyway.

Update: The TP4EVA coupon no longer works, but 48 rolls for $20 is still cheaper than their normal introductory offers (usually $10 off).

    Recycled

So this has stains on it from the person before?

    • +11

And no, recycled doesn't mean toilet paper you’ve already used – gross! We use 100% post consumer waste paper (think old books and office paper). Not only does it stop trees being chopped down, but it uses less water and creates less C02 emissions.

      From the FAQ

      • +9

        Also from the FAQ:

BUT I FEEL LIKE PAYING NOTHING
Hey tight arse, go steal some toilet paper from work.

        • +1

I doubt that's responsibly sourced but yeah sure recycled seems to fit the bill as it's next to wiping your arse with plastic making it worse than it was to begin with.

      • +1

Wont it have residue of chemicals from the ink used in old books?

  • +2

    Recycled Toilet Paper

    Eeeewwwwwwww……

    • Yum, will go nice with some salt :P

      • Sounds tasty

  • +4

Bought the 48 rolls + 6 rolls of paper towel for $28 delivered (using the code). Good deal, cheers!

  • +3

we have it at work… its good on your behind

  • +5

So I bought 2x48 rolls, with the code for $30 delivered. Thanks for this amazing deal!

    • +1

      TP4EVA !

  • Anyone who has already purchased wanna send an invitation my way for $10 off my order and $10 of your next one?

    • NVM it looks like the code works even without the paper towel or tissue boxes!

  • +27

    Q. How do you recycle toilet paper?
    A. Hang it on the clothes line and beat the sh!t out of it.

  • +6

How does this compare to supermarket brands (e.g. Quilton, Kleenex)?

    • +3

Not as good. Newspaper might be smoother.
But they last forever, I'm still using mine from 2015.

      • +1

You're using the same roll of toilet paper since 2015?

    • +2

this sits about in between train station toilet paper and those you mentioned.

    • +1

Kleenex sucks….they are so soft that My index ends up with shit even with three sheets.

  • Hm.. I bought 2x 48 for $30 with the TP4EVA code then logged back in to remove the subscription and now the site is bugging out and looks like it also cancelled the original order.
I just dont want to subscribe… grr.

    • +4

Just wait till you get ordered things then cancel?

      • I just went for the 16 week auto renew, figure I'll remember to cancel by then, and if I don't $1 for a double length roll ain't that bad

  • -4

Why are we recycling renewable resources? Why aren't we buying paper made from trees so new trees get planted?

    • +10

      Because consumption > replanting rates

    • +8

Some of us don't feel comfortable wiping out ass with freshly cut down Australian forest. You can't replace a forest just by planting trees.

      • +1

well you can, and they do? lol

      • Forests don't just grow on trees you know!

        • +1

Apparently there's a forest near my house my house but I can't see it because of all the trees.

    • +1

Not sure why you were downvoted.

They're not cutting down old growth forests and making paper out of it. It comes from tree farms and is replanted as fast as it is cut down.

      • +2

Yes, an excellent point and I didn't think Dijis remark deserved the negs as it's also a great thought provoking comment however the typical monoculture tree farm can screw up the ecology in the immediate area which causes knock-on effects down the line. Perfect example is in Tassie… Eucalypt plantations you'd think would be perfectly OK as they are the correct species for the area but unfortunately the intensity of the planting has increased levels of certain organic compounds generated by the trees which has then become toxic to other things including sea life once the plantation runoff reaches the ocean. Took them a while to figure that out but unfortunately it seems to be a direct link. Still best to 'Reduce, Reuse & Recycle' wherever possible but sometimes that isn't enough so I suppose trees will always be a backup… old-growth or plantation.

  • +2

im confused with left wing marketing. So it's actually not pay what you want?

    • 20 bucks min
With code turns out to be 15bucks if u buy two

      • +1

Sounds like a good deal, but to say its 'Pay what you want' is completely false. Unless im missing something of course.

        • +1

Pay what you want between a predefined minimum and maximum

        • +1

@tassieeagle: with a code for below min

        • the problem is you are hearing (and wanting to) 'pay nothing' which is not what they are saying…. I assum you are not wanting to pay $10000 for it right?

        • +1

I'm not sure how there is confusion with 'Pay what you want' it is to literally pay what you want. no ifs no buts.

It's false advertising and lazy marketing. But under the guise of left wing virtue signalling they get away with it.

        • +2

@skimmermilk: I think you are just being argumentative for the sake of it now

        • +5

I'm trying really hard not to come across like that. but i'm perplexed how anyone can justify a company that promotes 'pay what you want' across their marketing and webpage with zero mention of a minimum cost but then on the final step of purchasing you in fact can't pay what you want but you HAVE to pay a minimum $20

My expectation is not for them to give their products away, they're not a charity organisation and on face value $20 seems reasonable but it is not 'pay what you want'.

        • +6

@skimmermilk: I'll take "left wing" marketing over "right wing" whinging any day.

        • +4

          @tassieeagle:
Yep, it's almost like he thinks good old-fashioned capitalist marketing is "left wing".

        • @bohdud:

Ahh Yes those triggered snowflakes in safe spaces, come out one day a year to save the earth by buying 'recycled' toilet paper andposting their amazing achievements on facebook.

          tearsforhilary

        • -4

          @hangdog:

The irony is that this capitalist organization is fooling the left into believing 'recycled' paper will somehow save the earth, and not only that, they scam you to pay what you want, as long as it's more than $20.

i'd love to know how much over and above the $20 they took you for a ride?

        • @tassieeagle:

I believe all shops will soon be running with this marketing message …

  • +2

    Aldi is 24cents per 100.
    Maybe aldi better?

    • Depends if free delivery is worth anything to you (not everyone drives to ALDI)

    • +14

      You are getting 2 x 48pks for $30.
      2 x 48pks (400 sheets per roll) = 38,400 sheets
$30/38,400=0.00078125 per sheet and per 100 sheets is $0.078125.
7.8 cents per 100 sheets. Much better than Aldi (and anything else).

      • But if they are shit thin sheets like the Coles or Woollies recycled TP, you're in for some butt hurt.

        • It isn't, it's three ply

        • +1

          Coles is 2 ply.
Woolworths is Naturale, also 2 ply.

So at 3 ply, it should be 33% thicker. Assuming all plys are equal.

        • @neil: *50% thicker than 2ply.

      • I knew it was a good deal! Thxxxx for calculation!

      • Is it really 400 sheets per roll? OP seems to have made different calculations. A single 48 pk at $20 is 10.4c/100 sheets.

        • +1

Double-length rolls have 400 sheets each

        • @Turd: Thanks. Even at $28 including postage this is a good deal. 14.8c/100 sheets

        • @sween64: yep!

  • -1

Not sure I want to buy this TP when there are no reviews and just purely on price…

    • A friend gave me a roll a while back, it was fine (not great, not terrible, it got the job done).

      • Is all their TP recycled or just this particular product. Cause this makes a huge difference. You could have tried their standard TP product…

    • Or you could… do like the Romans did.

  • does anyone know when it will be delivered?

Thanks OP, ordered 2 x 48-roll packs for $30. Will last me a considerable amount of time and it's good quality stuff!
