      • Oooh so it's just an instore offer? Sorry, I'm use to them having Groupon vouchers

  • +1

personally, i found the portion size pretty small when i had 2 for 1 fish and chips last time with a different voucher. quality was ok.

  • four scallops- are they real scallops or potato scallops?

    • +1

      Real lol :)

      • bargain price then.

        • Admittedly has been cheaper before under Scoopon/Groupon deals, but at least this way you don't have to pre-purchase and subsequently forget to use your voucher lol

        • @Spackbace:
          $25 is pretty good though.
2 pieces of fish (as long as itnot yucky Basa) and chips is close to that. prawns and scallops are about $2.50 each up here, thats $20 to start with.

        • @PVA:

Yeah definitely, even my local shop wants $9 or so for a serve of fish n chips, without the seafood, and the fish isn't as good

I doubt they're real. Probably stingray flap punched out, like every other chippy.

Doesn't take much to be better than Ciccerellos …. overpriced and overrated!

    • +2

      Same is true of Kailis.

  • Thanks OP, I'll eat here tomorrow.

      "Trolling / Bullying"

      • No I mean what did it say?

        • +2

It just said best fish and chip is subjective and it only got 3-3.5 star on review website.

        • Thank

Best fish n chips in the state FWIW :)

I much preferred Squidlips when I last had the two, but both are great!

  • Good value. They are much better compared to Cicarellos or Kailis

I dont rate Sweetlips Leederville at all, I used 2 groupons (separate occasions) for it, and the fish pieces were tiny, not sure if they have a reserved fish section for Groupon customers.

If you are SOR, look up Tankk in Winthrop. Best fish and chips around imo. The Friday-Sunday deals are great value for the family, and I think Wed/Thurs is 2 seafood baskets for $25 as well. Huge portions!

    • Their fish is ok, but their chips taste like they were made by a guy who has only read about chips in a book.

      • In Tankk? Ive gotten good chips most of the time, but i do sauce it up at home or take some of their 'chip flavourings' at the salt bar

        • Pardon me, i meant sweetlips.

  • Tourist fish and chips are both worse value and quality than locals like Beckenham Fish & Chips.

Kailis / Cicerellos are not superior to fuel station food.

    • i do like Kaili's seafood chowder in Freo though, not sure why Cicerellos one is like $10 more…

squid lips is much better for squid - but is in Margaret River.
Hooked is much better for fish - but is in Albany.
Nino's in Mandurah is much more consistent in quality.

sweet lips is just a really good all rounder for the Perth CBD. but not the best at any.
    still worth going for though!

Went today and used this deal - pretty good value.
Ask for grilled fish if you don't want battered. They were very accommodating at Freo.
Just wish they'd clear the tables a little quicker as the Seagulls were having a feast day.

  • Grilled fish cost an extra $2 at Leederville.
Dont know what fish they use.
Massive amount of food, but not the best fish and chips.
I went to Johnnys fish bar in Como a couple of weeks ago and it was good.
Crispy chips and batter and not as oily as sweetlips.
