25% off @ Supercheap Auto (Saturday 15/4) - 40% off Car Wash, 30% off Socket and Spanner Sets

2160

25% off this Saturday

Just went in to grab a battery click and collect for today's online 20% off and the person at the checkout mentioned they have 25% off this weekend so I'll get back another 5% credit for my club plus membership.

I called up when I got home to confirm if 25% off was all stores and was advised it is. That's all the info I have at the moment, just a confirmation of 25% off all stores.

I'm sure there will be an email soon and I'll update with more details.

Combine this with the ongoing $10 credit with the $5 'club plus' membership for those who aren't already members. If you need something urgently you can sign up and purchase it now then receive the credit for the sale on the weekend. Thanks @ycon

Did you call the same store to get confirmation of the 25% weekend discount or HQ?

    • +17

Are you going to miss the deal because of your username?

    • I called the store and asked if it was all stores because I wouldn't be around on the weekend, a different person to the one I originally spoke to advised it would be all stores. I didn't call HQ because I want's sure if they'd give me info on a sale that wasn't advertised yet. I might give them a try though.

    • +10

Called HQ and she was reluctant to tell me, she asked "who told you that" so I let her know someone from a store (didn't say which store, don't want to get them in trouble) and she said that's correct 25% off this weekend.

      • +1

Does the "weekend" include the whole long weekend? Or is it strictly Saturday and Sunday only?

        • Both people just said "this weekend", I called again to confirm just now and the guy said Saturday only. I will update the deal.

  • Ok guys last week I spent $240 at Supercheap and the checkout chick said their computers were down and they could not accept club plus members. Can I call head office and get them to sort it out?

    • +8

Why bother even asking that question?

Just send them an email and copy of the receipt. It can't hurt to try.

      • +2

I was just thinking out loud

  • +1

Fantastic, I just bought a shed load of stuff from their 20% sale, so credit will be coming my way!

  • +1

Damn, just bought stuff from the 20% off sale.

Ah, but works out, the stuff I got was 25% off and 50% off. Phew.

  • Do you have to be a Club Plus member to get the 25% discount or will be a general discount for everyone?

    • +1

discount for everyone but club members who bought in the last two weeks will be credited the difference without even asking for a purchase next time.

      • +5

This alone keeps me shopping there. If more businesses did this, they'd have me as a customer in a heartbeat

  • this is 5% better than the offer from this morning

    • Not necessarily, the one on for today is minimum 20% off and up to 50% off.

    • Just bought gift cards from entertainment book - 10% off, hoping I can buy a battery at discounted rates. Looking for 720CCA high performance

  • does this discount apply to tyres online?

    • Do they sell tyres??? Never seen instore

  • +1

Tempted to buy a battery at 25%. Current battery is 2.5 years old. How long can I keep one in storage for?

    • potentially forever, if you keep it on a trickle charger. need to keep checking on water levels.

    • +2

Ask them to test it first they do it for free

      • I did a few weeks ago. Its at 360 cca instead of 540

        • Don't get a smaller battery, spend the extra on a bigger one. Both will start your car now, but after a few years the smaller one will start to struggle. I've only ever bought one battery, and that was 7 years ago on a Delcor calcium, and it still works as well as the day I put it in.

        • @Spam Service: thanks for the advice. The recommended battery at the time was century 540cca. Now 2.5 years later, it was tested cranking out 360cca instead of the rated 540cca.

I'll look at something bigger in time. Dont want to be caught out and having to be forced to buy a battery. Rather save some coin:)

        • @D6C1:

I'd be a bit leary of those results - I had a mechanic tell me for 4 years that my car battery was "on the point of failure" because his really expensive tester told him so. He is a good mechanic and buys good kit - he was genuine in his belief that I was facing imminent failure. He too mentioned CCA's.

Have a look at http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/impedance_spectro… for an explanation regarding the science.

    • Check with a battery store first. You might find their price beats SCA even after discount. If not, mention this sale. I never see people buying batteries from SCA. So would rather take my chances the battery store has fresher ones that are neither over, under, or never charged.

    • I had a bad experience with a DOA battery with supercheap. They refused to refund or replace and insisted it go to the manufacturer to be tested ETA 7+ days. Not an issue if you don't need the battery, but I needed the battery ! Suffice to say I ended up buying another battery from a local battery store for less, and they made sure it was charged and working before I walked out the shop.

If you can verify it's a good deal and ask them to test in store well go for it :)

    • hey mate, check other places for prices too. sometimes i find supercheap most expensive for my type of battery even after sale.

i find autobahn ok and you can get 20 percent once off if you sign up to their club membership.

  • Would you get credits back for the 5% difference in price between order paid today and over the weekend?

I bought a Lucas Oil Stabilizer for $15 today and thought it was so cheap compared to ebay $30??

    • +1

If you are a club plus member and it is cheaper on the weekend then you will be credited the difference.

  • Just bought 7 Litres of 5W30 Nulon Synthetic oil for $62. 6L + 1L bottles.

    Seems like a good deal.

    • +4

Dammit! I could have got 5% more off.

      However,

As a "club member" , if something goes on special within 2 weeks- they'll refund me the difference :)

Sign up and get $5 credit too (costs $5 to join, and you'll get $10 credit

      Worth updating OP.

      • +1

        Done. Cheers

      • How does it track you had old order within 2 weeks? Shall we call or add the order somewhere manually?
Edit: Cool ! it automatically found my battery order! Guess based on phone number or email address.

  • Hmmm…I'm in the market for some new spanners. Might go check it out on the weekend. Thanks OP!

    • They always have 40-60% off various sets in their catalogues. That'd be the better bet IMO

  • +2

IIRC the refund in the price difference is in the form of store credit which has an expiry date. This ensures that the customer comes back to spend more.

    • I've often ended up with 5-10 dollars store credit. Usually pick up some export cans, wiper blades, service consumables, buckets, tyre shine etc.. Things i'd buy anyway, if there isn't something in paticular that i wanted when i have credit.

  • Need to buy battery, this looks to be great deal to buy it now. Does anyone know a good AGM battery for Mercedes C200 CGI?

Checked NRMA and RAC and they offer #5536 battery with CCA=760

    • Looking for same battery. They do seems to have Century ultra which is at 250RRp

  • Dunno if this will help anyone, but if you are a club member and don't have time this weekend due to being away for the Easter break or heading overseas, or if you saw something you wanted that was low in stock but didn't want to pay full price, you can go in the next few days before the sale and you'll get the refund of the difference.

Only risk is that sale doesn't happen but deal has been confirmed by HQ.

  • Can I use eGift cards in store? Combined with 10% discount on gift cards makes it even better.

    • 10% better or 7.5% better?…

      • Hmmm…trick question eh? I'll be 10% better of after the 25% discount is applied. How's that?

  • +3

    I just bought a $4 toolkit

    karcher worth buying from supercheap?

    • I bought a Karcher G2800 FH off them during the Christmas sale. it got lost in transit, so they had to send another which turned up late.

However it made it and the unit is really good, starts first pull and i've done a stack of cement with it around the BBQ area and paths. It could cut concrete with the 0 degree head. Really happy with the price compared to other retailers and the unit is good so far.

  • Where do you join for club membership and it costs $5 so they give you $5 free?
And how quick do you become member and get the $5? Im after something but ends on 14th so can i use the credit on the item im after? And if so how?
Does it only work in store?

Was thinking as i be buying this item and im paying $5 to join and get $5 back its more or less $5 free towards my item right?

  • Are there any nice seat covers that are airbag compatible?

    • +1

Even with these sales, its still much better to get seat covers from EBay.

I picked up some airbag ones recently for less than half what they sell in store.

      • Can u provide sellers link..

        • Just search Ebay… "airbag seat covers", then select sort by 'lowest price including postage'.

Depending on your colour preference and vehicle type, you can get 2x front seat covers (either leather look or waterproof neoprene) for $35 delivered.

That's a huge difference from prices at Supercheap.
Plus spend over $30 from AU sellers and get 5% off (not sure if this is targeted or not, but that's what I see on top banner today).

I ended up getting these ones from UK:
          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Leather-Look-Car-Seat-Covers-Blac…

99.5% rated seller with almost 1/2 million sales.
Doesn't get much better in ratings ;).

  • +1

They sell rhino rack stuff atsupercheap?

  • I ordered a battery online yesterday to have 20% off. Is it everything 25% off? Just signed up membership. How could I get 5% credit automatically?

    • +1

you have to be logged in to your account when you purchased the battery, when the sale happens the difference will be credited to your account as 'Loyalty Credit'. If you signed up after then I don't believe you will be able to get the credit, you can always email them the receipt during the sale to give it a try.

      • It didn't automatically credit. I ended up to call customer service to cancel the old one and place a new order, as advised by the lady in the call.

  • I got the message with yesterday's deal that things already quite reduced in price won't be reduced further….but does this apply to multi-buys (ie it is a 'special' but in a sense also a 'regular price'). If I go for a multi-buy deal will I get the 25% off do you think?

  • just when i thought i missed out on the 20% off yesterday :)

  • "One Day Sale" Saturday 15th… Does post need to be updated

  • Email received. Confirmed this Saturday

  • guys, which oil is best for Mazda6 2016 Petrol? Castrol, Penrite, Shell, Nulon, else?
Does it matter if it is 5W-30 or 5W-40, for example? What impact does it have?

Manual says the engine requires the following grade:
    API SG/SH/SJ/SL/SM/SN or ILSAC GF-II/GF-III/GF-IV/GF-V

    SAE Viscosity:
    10W-30
    10W-40
    10W-50
    5W-40
    5W-30
    5W-20
    0W-30
    0W-20

Sorry Im a bit of a n00b in regards to car maintenance.

    Tia

    • +2

5W-30 is what you want for your car. Not too sure which oil brand is the best but I use Castrol Edge which I grab when its 50% off.

      • Thanks mate. Not questioning the correctness of your answer, but what is the reason behind saying 5W-30 is the oil for my car (also for my knowledge)?

I had a read in other forum (whirlpool i think) saying that Penrite > Castrol, but looks like Penrite Fully Synthetic only comes in 5W-40.
Does it matter if go with 5W-40 oil?

  • Anybody tried the:
SCA Wiper Refills - Single Edge, Narrow, Suits 6.5mm, 2 Pack
    or
SCA Wiper Refills - Twin Rubber, Wide, Suits 8.5mm, 2 Pack
    Any good?

    • Yep .. they are pretty average but for the price differential still worth it.

  • Any one know if the ebay 5% off deal will stack with supercheap on ebay?

  • none of the high end karchers are discounted.. boooo

    • +2

      Just a FYI.

https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/misleading-claims-advertis… - specifically, this sub section:

      "Bait advertising

Bait advertising takes place when an advertisement promotes certain (usually ‘sale’ prices) on products that are not available or available only in very limited quantities. It is not misleading if the business is upfront in a highly visible, clear and specific manner about the particular product ‘on sale’ being in short supply or on sale for a limited time."

SCA are advertising that it's 25% off "storewide". If some things are not on sale, that's baiting, and illegal.

  • I bought a jetski cover early last year and have noticed its now all brittle and easily tears when i pull the material slightly :(

My handlebar has poked through and other rips/tears are appearing.

I'm wondering if anyone else with a boat or ski knows how long to expect a cover to last, (1 year) or more?

I think these are cheap rubbish but it seemed ok at the time.

I see it's on sale today… but not keen since i only got 1 year from current one.

  • Anyone know how long it takes for SCA gift card to be active when purchasing from woolies?

  • Does the online sale end at 11:59pm tonight or when stores close this afternoon??

    • +2

      11:59 tonight online

      • Strange, some prices look like it's full price already
