Star Wars: Rogue One 2 Disc Blu-Ray with BONUS DVD for $29.98 - JB Hi-Fi

120

My first deal! Hope it's good.

I was surprised to find an edition of Rogue One on blu-ray with additional DVD extras. I swear that this was limited to JB's exclusive steelbook edition. Stickered at $29.98, which is the same price as the standard blu-ray with 2 discs. Original price is $44.98!

Not advertised anywhere. No idea how long this goes for. This was the last one on the shelf in Pacific Werribee. Also got a voucher discount for Passengers if anyone is interested. Not sure if it's unique.

  • What's the extra material on the DVD?

      • Sanity also had a blu-ray version that was available to buy online before release although it appears out of stock now. It did not include the extra material on DVD but instead had a booklet.

I was hoping for the JbHiFi steelbook version to go with my StarWars Blu-ray collection, but unfortunately it has no 3D copy (for completeness).

        Is there a 4K version?

EDIT: To answer my 4K question….. No 4K version on the near horizon :(

        • I only just found out about the digi book wish i had known would have got this.

        • @bwatt99: I've definitely seen the Star Wars: Rogue One - Mission Files book at Target in the book section. Angus and Robertson have it as well. It's nicely designed but I'd say it's written more for the teen demographic.

        • @Misterbumpy:

Yes but im taking about blu ray not a book so are you saying digibook would be same so maybe not a good buy the digibook version?

        • @bwatt99: Oh, I just re-read your comment and I misunderstood you. I suspect that the Mission Files book has been shrunk down to fit in the digi-book, but that's just a guess.
Now that you've brought it to my attention this edition probably looks the best (I like digi-books) and the use of the original poster is a huge bonus (it's the most artfully designed poster for Rogue One, which is a bit better than the blu-ray, certainly better than the one I got (even if I love KS20) and miles better than the DVD cover, which resembles a TV series cover.

What do you mean on the star wars im thinking of getting an edition but not sure what yet. Not sure what you mean.
Whats the passenger voucher for? If not already taken i would be interested.

I am not sure if it's worth commenting here but I pricematched Big W for the 3D + 2 bluray disc set, which brought the price down from $39.95 to $35.

$47.96 for some laptop sleeve? Alright Misterbumpy, time to turn in your OzBargain badge immediately.

(This is sarcastic, BTW. Keep up the great work).

    • Thanks, it was a laptop bag with 20% off, I have you know, and I didn't have time to look for a bargain. On the upside I'll be claiming it as an expense for tax purposes. Where would you suggest I look in the future?

  • I just got the standard 2 Disc Blu Ray from Target for $25. I couldn't wait for the price to go lower in a few months! Would have liked this one with the extra disc. Ah well, too late now.

If you don't want the Passenger voucher discount, can I have it please?

    • I did the same. Got mine from big w for $25.

  • Had a look on the weekend and the bonus materials on a DVD, not Blu-Ray, as noted by the OP. Also it only had a run time of about 10 minutes so not sure it'll be overly exciting.

Ended up buying at Big W for $25 instead without the third disc.

JB's $39 Steelbook also had the bonus DVD too.

  • For a moment I thought this was a sequel to Rogue One. lol

  • So what do you get from the big w edition or target there seems to be a few versions.was thinking 3d,as last star wars film i got had it and have 3d tv,but i believe they are just the basic blu ray?
Not a collectors or limited edition i normally like so get something different when it comes to a movie. If there is a special or collectors edituon or its limited.
Steelbook looks nice but i used to collect them and stopped as at the time was too much of them coming out and was very easy to start collecting them.

    • From what I can tell all places had the same 3D edition. Big W and Target didn't have any special editions.

JB had this edition and a steelbook but you're paying $5 more for this copy and $15 more compared to Big W or Target if you want the steel book. Their 3D copy also cost more than competing stores but you should be able to pricematch that one.

The steelbook looked VERY nice but personally I didn't think it was worth $15 more than the standard edition. Each to their own but. If it had included a 3D copy I think it'd have been a better buy.

  • I picked up the 3d bluray at target Northland yesterday for $28. There was 20% off dvds/bluray, but this may have been a pricing error.
