Could you recommend security installers in Sydney ?

    • Hi Baazi, sorry we don't have anyone we could recommend you in Sydney.

Spend a little more and get the IP cameras from Dahua or HIKVision. These will be analogue and resolution will be poor even claiming Full HD. Other pros includes that no power source is required for IP cameras taken you are using POE recorder or switch.

    • Thanks for the comment Gaggy. Although it is true that you could spend more and get IP cameras (which we also offer) it is not true that the resolution is poor with the 2MP HDCVI cameras. Analogue signal is not such a bad thing anymore, it actually has it's advantages over a comparable 2MP IP camera such as, no lag and cheaper pricing. As for the pros of IP cameras not having a power source, this is actually a pro and con at the same time. To not have an additional power source your NVR would require to have a POE switch inbuilt (which yes most NVR's do), and in the event of a POE switch failure it is not as simple as changing over a power adapter as it would be with the CVI.

To sum it up, IP cameras are a lot more flexible with features such as running on it's own through a network without the need for an NVR and once wired for an IP camera it is very simple to change cameras to higher resolution in future. Speaking from many years of experience, this does not happen in most domestic or small commercial cases. So the additional costs you will pay will most likely never be worth it.

For domestic or commercial premises who don't want to spend a lot for a reliable CCTV system but want good quality picture at the same time, the Dahua HDCVI is undoubtedly currently the best option.

      • I move into my new home in 12 months time (land yet to be titled)

        Can you do this deal?

I would of snapped this up straight away because i have previously been quoted over 4 grand.

        • ….

        • Hi, we can certainly work out some type of deal. Please contact us through our website or facebook page with your details and we will be in touch.

      • I have a question about these Dahua-branded cameras: Do the cameras have root password of "vizxv"?

The reason why I'm asking is because the Mirai and Bashlite. Now Mirai and Bashlite are "harmless" but the new one, Brickerbot, will completely render the camera(s) useless.
