      But how would it affect the battery life, when you don't game? Is the idle power draw similar between the two?

        I am not considering it. I am looking at the N850HK really.

        I don't need even the 1050. But you cannot get a laptop with the 7700HQ without a dedicated GPU. I would rather get the 1050 than getting the 950M or something from the last gen. I would expect Pascal to draw less power.

        BTW, does anyone know how the GTX 1050 would play with the iGPU? It the iGPU disabled or does it kick in when you don't use anything taxing. How do you set it up if you are buying the laptop without Windows 10 preinstalled. (i.e. if you are installing it yourself).

  I think it is worth to upgrade the RAM to 16GB and that wireless card to the Intel 8265 for a grand total of $1567 without an OS, right? I would do it, if I wanted to buy it.

  If you are not into gaming, is there any reason to get this over the 850HJ model which comes with the 1050 2GB card? Are there instances where the extra 2GB VRAM on the 1050Ti would be beneficial?

  Just placed my order without the option for Windows 10 thinking I could get it cheaper elsewhere, but decided against it later. Emailed affordablelaptops and they happily changed the order within an hour of me sending the email.
