Mods receive commission from TA? LOL no wonder all the up votes for cashrewards "deals"

      • No they don't, you get to put a marker on that square when someone comments it.

  • +1

Also, CR now works on your phone, if you didn't know

    • +1

CR hasn't been working properly for me lately, ordered a washing machine on Saturday and still no notification, think menu log too about a week ago.

Gotta check through my emails someday and followup or I'll forget.

      • +1

must say that the customer service team at cashrewards is simply great to deal with… usually address any concerns same day or overnight.

      • +1

I've said it before but if you're on Chrome (or Safari), get the add on. Since I installed that, never missed one when I'm using my laptop. However, I purchased through my phone last week and it wasn't tracked but the new CR form is much better

      • +1

Got my email yesterday for items I bought a week ago. So I think it works properly but just slow.

      • eBay tracking can take a while, mine took 9 days before I got the acknowledgement email from Cashrewards for my most recent purchase. I use the CR Chrome extension, makes it harder to forget to activate before checking out and paying.

  • +5

you mean was 2.4% 0.6% difference warrants a deal?

      • +1

You misread what he wrote it was 2.4% https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/298328.

        • -5

And before that it was 1.25%, and when this ends it's going to go back down to 1.25%. It was 1.25%.

        • Actually, that link/deal shows it was 2.6%.

  • +2

I wonder what's changed??? I remember cashrewards was blaming ebay when they dropped the cashback rate to around 1%

    • -1

Probably just CR making slightly less money.

    • +1

Websites often temporarily increase rates for their affiliate partners for various reasons. It's likely eBay have done this to get more sales like their usual X% off Category and store sales.

      • Why it's dangerous to make claims like never to be repeated rates and it's highest going to be when promoting this kind thing….

    • +3

Wish had more coupons like $20 off $50 spend, or $40 off $100 spend

  • is this valid on purchases made from eBay international via eBay au?

    • -1

      ebay au

  • +1

Wow.. now all I need is a deal on the stupid iPhone I have to buy (family member)

  • +1

Great! I just spent $20 this afternoon and only got 2.4%… typical

  • +44

People neg non-eBay posts that are 5-10% off, so why is this utter garbage deal worth noting? You get $3 off $100, a lot of stuff on eBay can be found elsewhere, cheaper, due to inflation based on eBay's cut. This might be okay if you combine with an eBay discount but there's always the risk of the transaction actually going through CR.

Honestly, this deal is pointless unless you happen to have had plans to buy something big and expensive prior to seeing the deal.

    • +26

Agreed. But my testicles aren't as big as yours to neg it.

      • +1

thats how you manage to hit the high notes, bonjovi

    • +5

Basically every cash back scheme only gives a few percent. But it doesn't cost you anything to use so why not? I'm not saying go out and overpay for stuff you don't need just to get cashback but it's a free way to save just a little bit more. Not worth a neg from me

      • -1

Unfortunately, virtually every eBay sale is subject to price jacking. Especially from the likes of Futu and Kogan. Kogan are the only company I know that will sell iPhones from Hong Kong for more money than local stock that comes with great consumer warranty. It's the worst when the new models drop because those scumbags do it every time.

        • Except they can't jack for Cashrewards sales.

        • +1

@TheClipIt: I never said they were. This isn't an eBay sale. The statement that 'virtually any eBay sale is subject to price jacking' holds true in the context I made the claim (eBay sales), I wasn't referring to cash-back programmes.

    • +2

Unfortunately this is a result of websites like this capitalising on user counts for commercial outcomes (which i'm fine with). e.g. FB, scroll through your feed you'll see ads, nothing is free in life.

What annoys me are the synthetically high + votes for a 3% off 'deal'.

      • synthetically high

Do you think the 50 +votes are from fake accounts.

    • +3

unless you happen to have had plans to buy something

Aren't most deals only good if you would normally buy it??

      • +3

        You must be new here…

Jokes aside, I'm sure I'm not the only person who has bought random stuff on a whim. Like SD cards pr SSDs because the prices were just too damn good to refuse.

    • +2

Honestly, this any deal is pointless unless you happen to have had plans to buy something big and expensive prior to seeing the deal.

      FIFY

    • 10% off Woolworths eGift cards would get a lot of up votes.

    • I decided to buy a new phone, been using a Iphone4 with a smashed screen for 6 months. I think this is a good deal.

  • +1

Ebay click through doesnt seem to work for me. I have 3 non-registered transactions that i currently have an ongoing enquiry about, 2 of them are for ebay. Not sure if others have issues too??

    • I've had to manually lodge claims to CashRewards multiple times due to it not registering.

that's with a supported browser, adblocks disabled and using the CR browser addon!

  • +2

A maximum of $50 cashback may be earned on any single purchase

that's the deal breaker for me if buying high price item during a sale. eg. aircon, camera etc

    • +2

$50 is better then nothing if your going to buy it anyway.

      • true, but I would've prefer no cap on cashback amount like they'd offered in the past.

  • +1

Move along. its only for ppl already have plan to buy big items before seeing this.

who idiots splash cash to earn 3% ebay casbcack

    • -2

Or if your buying a small purchase you might as well get some free money

    • who idiots splash cash to earn 3% ebay casbcack

I think anyone who buys something just because of a discount irrespective of how big it is is misguided.

    • +1

Plus the 5% site wide coupon it's 8% in total.. not that bad

  • +11

These Cashrewards ads are getting annoying.

      • +2

You got shares in the company ?

        • -3

          Are they publicly trading.

    • +2

Yep agreed like an annoying ad that pops up all the time

    • Their emails are the worst in my view.

I don't need to receive an email when I search for something thanks very much. I also don't need to receive an email from a [email protected] address which I can't even respond to.

  • Well I never normally bother with the pathetic 1.25%, but as it's currently 3% I will keep it in mind of I buy anything in the next few days… Thanks.

  • +4

Think this a record high for eBay Cashback (in the last few years)

    RECORD HIGH!!!!!!

    whopping 3%

everything is a record when there wasn't really a record previously. By the end of the year cashrewards would have broken so many of their own records they could write a book about it and the cashback will still be < 5%

    • And that will still technically be a record :D

  • +1

+ve votes must be pretty cheap these days to positive vote anything less than 5% compared to other deals on this website. We better follow eBay's style and add a new A++++++++ vote for genuine great deals.

  • Extra 1.75% off!!!!!

  • dammn.. just spent something on ebay last night…

  • +6

Get ready guys , 3.1% coming next week!!!

    • +3

It will go back down to 1.25% then increase to 1.5% in a week time!! absolute bargain!!

      • +2

Lol thats how they keep posting

      • Everyone's chocolate ration has been increased to 20 grams!!!!

  • My last 2 purchases over the last few days haven't even worked with cashrewards even though I followed the instructions to the T, just as I have every other time…. so no idea why it's not working anymore.

    • +1

Andrew here from Cashrewards. eBay can often take up to 7 days from transaction to report in your Cashrewards account. Some eBay transactions come through much quicker but it really is random and depends on a number of factors including the seller. If you haven't received your rewards in your account after 7 days contact us and we'll fix it up for you. Cashrewards guarantees your cashback http://join.cashrewards.com.au/guarantee (the first and only guarantee worldwide from a cashback site)

      • Thanks for responding Andrew, hopefully it will show up over the next few days then :)

      • Hi Andrew,

Do purchases from international listings made from ebay.com.au apply to this cashback?

        • +1

Yes - Whatever you buy on eBay.com.au applies

  • +1

It was 2.6% this arvo when I bought my item.

    • Yeah same here. Not really annoyed as most likely it will not be tracked and its only $15 purchase :\

  • +6

Truly one of the great bargains. What a time to be alive!!

    • +1

Get the plaque ready for the OZB hall of fame - The ratio of the highest average positive votes to the lowest actual % discount.

  • From CR it has no expiry date (as yet) and in combination with an almost monthly 20% off from eBay, that's why I would +1 it.
