This deal was so good, it made me pitch a tent.

      Calm down, get a grip.
      Oh you already have.

this line of puns is really intents

    • Ta Pauline.

  • Is Grays ever not included as a participating store?

    • +14

      That's a bit of a grey area.

  • any link so i can search items on all participating stores?

  • +4

    Here's the correct link:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/rpp/camping-sale

    • thank you was just about to fix post up

  • Seem to work for all Harvey Norman items, even non-camping items (eg kids toys) but didn't work for a laptop from Grays.

  • +2

Shipping kills most of the deals. Nothing I can see here. Anyone have anything?

  • Na nothing for any item if you scroll down there are other sellers who are selling similar item for less price however they are not participating in this 20% deal

  • I recently got a Klymit Insulated Static Sleeping Mat from Amazon for around $100 AUD. They are on eBay now for about $130, which would be about $105 , then a bit less with cash rewards. It's very highly-reviewed on Amazon, I don't reckon you could do much better.

    • How about the one the Sea to Summit Ultralight for $99 listed in the sale? Any idea how they compare?

      • I'm not really a authority. I've heard good things about the Sea To Summit, including in reviews. But it just didn't seem as popular on Amazon. I've actually slept on Sea to Summit mats and they are fine, so….

      • +1

Sea to summit ultralight pad is comfortable, but you can't compare the two pads as the Klymit one is insulated whereas the sea to summit one is not. It is relegated to only summer use, since you'll preferably want a higher r-value (warmth rating) for colder seasons.
The sea to summit pad does come in an insulated version, however it would naturally be more expensive

    • i managed to pick up a couple of the non-insultated klymits for $10ea from Amazon.. best buy

  • Totally unrelated to the deal here but have been looking for a sleeping bag and come across a deal for the Sea to Summit Trek TKIII for $275. Just worried it might be a bit too hot. Anyone own it? Retails for over $450 in many shops

    • +1

Definitely not a summer sleeping bag. I bought it for a Tasmanian hiking trip and it didn't disappoint. Really good quality and very warm. With sleeping bags always better to get warmer than required because you can always open the zip if it's warm.

      • Cheers. I think I would prefer the tkII but cant find it on clearance. The tkIII is a bargain though at that price. I'm generally a cold sleeper too which swings me towards pulling the trigger. I guess on summer hikes I can bring my current Roman bag (which is terrible for anything under 10 degrees imo)

      • I did a lot of bushwalking in Tassie and after encountering a totally unexpected snow storm in the middle of summer I've decided to bring winter sleeping bag wherever I go.

        • Unexpected weather change in Tassie? Surely not!

      • Good summer winner tip for sleeping bags and pants with zippers.

    • I just took a look at TKIII and I kinda feel that you can get better bags at this price. The bag I'm using has the same filling, similar ratings and similar weight but it was only about 120 usd.

      • +1

Can you suggest which one this is as I am in the market for another one…

        • +1

The one I have is Kelty cosmic down 20. It's rated to -7 C. I bought it during sale from massdrop for around 120 usd.
It seems to be one of the best valued bag (for the warmth and weight) if you are specifically looking for down bag. It is warm, but it is also big and heavy as it has 600 fill power down. For my next bag I'll look for something with 750 to 800 fill down, with which the bag will be lighter and more compressible.

        • @yyhazy: thanks for that. I am yet to buy stuff off Massdrop. How has your experience with them been? How long does it take for your orders to arrive?

And also, how does the warranty/returns work?

        • I've been buying stuff from them for over a year. It's a legitimate website with a growing (and usually very helpful) community, if that's what you worry about.
Their delivery is super slow, so be ware of that. After a "drop" ends, it usually takes at least a month for my stuff to get here. You can just check the estimated shipping date and add 2 weeks to that.
So far I haven't had the need to return anything yet. From what I've heard, they offer returns for products that have problems and they'll pay for the shipping both way. Other than that, say, if you change your mind or bought the wrong size, they don't offer return.

        • If you are after good pack hiking gear I recommend http://www.campsaver.com/

I have a sea to summit micro III that I got at a ridiculously good price a few years ago from a store closing down.
It packs so small and and warm. If the weather is warm I can open it up as a blanket. For people whose feet gets too hot, the bottom opens up to vent.

  • Disappointed theyve left BCF out

    • same been holding off getting some new camping gear but nothing really stands out here.

  • Is there a way to search for items only eligible for the discount ? Can browse through categories, however I just want to search for a particular item

    • click the link, then half way down the page there is a search this sale bar

      • So obvious now I see it ! Thanks.

  • Had my eye on a Coleman Instant Up Tent.

The 6P is available at snowys for $265 delivered (plus 10% discount if you sign up to the newsletter i think).

On eBay, with the 20% discount (@ HN) this comes to $256 delivered. Not much of a deal tbh.

    • -4

Nexus 6P for $265 at Snowys? which store?

      • He was referring to the 6 persons Coleman's instant up tent not the Nexus 6P mobile phone. Sorry. $265 Nexus 6P delivered Australian is still just too good to be true unless severely second handed.

    • Aldi are doing the 6p tent @ $179 from 1/04

  • Can anyone comment on the quality of the non-Camelbak hydration packs. OZTrail is one of the brands there.

  • Been waiting for a deal on an Oztrail Deluxe Gazebo 3x3m for awhile now…20% off is great, but the delivery fee basically wipes out the discount - any chance any camping place would price match?

Harvery Norman deal seems the best for this item, but says it's online only which is annoying as I'd rather pickup from store anyway since it's impossible to be home when they try to deliver (& delivering to work & then carrying such a large & heavy item on train isn't practical).

    • i was also hoping for this. cheapest ive found locally is a place in brisbane called freddies fishing gear $164

    • was also looking for one of these and came to the same conclusion

    • I was also hunting one of these OzTrail Gazebos a while back, but then couldn't resist when BCF had their own Wanderer brand 3x3 Gazebo on sale for $99.

I've only used it once on a camping trip, and was very happy with it. Something to consider if you can get it that cheap again.

      • BCF 20% off store wide sale starts tomorrow, OzTrail 3x3 is currently clearance at $170, so should be down to $136

        • Good price, bit that's not the deluxe model unfortunately.

    • The Marquee 3m Gazebo Bunnings sell is identical to an Oztrail Deluxe Gazebo.

Personally I think it is an unbranded Oztrail. At under $150 (and even less sometimes on special) it is hard to go past! I've had one for about 7 years before it eventually broke (friend's fault). All the Oztrail gazebo parts and accessories fit it.

      • Have had a look at these & I agree they are most likely a rebranded Oztrail. But they aren't the same quality as the Deluxe model, only 150D cover versus the Oztrail 300D.

I previously had an $80 Aldi one which was rubbish and collapsed after only a few days due to some wind while we were camping. They gave me a refund without question. So looking for something strong and durable… But still want an ozbargain!

        • I am not sure about the rating of the canopy, but I can vouch for the Marquee one, as I said had one for 7 years and it has sheltered us well sun or rain!

  • Great prices for LED lenser head torches sold by acqm327. Almost half RRP. Authorised seller so come with 5 yr warranty.
Mr recently left his in a ceiling somewhere so replaced his H14R.2 for $143.20. He uses it all the time for work and when we go camping. Best price normally is about $170.
Picked up the H7R.2 for me for $82.80. Again at least $18 cheaper than anywhere else.
Free post or click & collect seals the deal.
