Lol and iinet are beaten almost immediately hardly surprising

    TPG etc etc

    • -1

TPG $75 unlimited beats them all (admittedly, TPG is pretty limited on which exchanges this is offered at).

I think these ISP know that 1TB or realistically, 500G = already unlimited for a majority of ppl who either don't d/l that much or can't physically d/l that much due to their connection limits.

Well if you can dl at the max theoretical speed of 24mbit/s you can get just over 8TB of data. But lets say in real life it's more of a realistic ~12mbit/s to most users and that would make it 4TB of data.
We're a quarter of the way there boys till we litterally have to dl 24/7 a day to max out our quota.

      • Was going to change to TPG unlimited plan but they took off the $1 telephone .

        • +1

yeah i am an existing customer with unlimited.. i was holding onto the fact that they promised to let existing customers transfer their ULL landline over.. but that never came about because it was impossible due to Telstra hindering the process.. so the only way you could have unlimited bundled with $1 home phone was if u started a new connection with them.. now that I found out it's not possible to transfer landline, i didn't mind starting a new connection.. however, they have now taken off the $1 homephone bundle ffs.

          hate.

    I thought 1111GB was a typo

Finally a plan that will allow me to download the entire interwebz….awesome ;)

Wow, what a quick and brutal response from iPrimus!
"Let's make a gigabyte plan to mach iiNet AND beat theirs by 10%"
    Good to see competition though!

id take iinet quality network over iprimus any day of the week. Think ill ditch TPG for iinet, it was excellent when i was with them a few years back, wonder if its changed.

    • -3

      Bit iiNet's is only 8000Kbps.

      iPrimus is ADSL2+

      • wrong

      • +1

I believe iiNet were the first to provide ADSL 2+ in Australia.
That's why I went with them. Upgraded from dial up straight to ADSL 2+.

Also their free XBox Live content is a big plus for heavy gamers like me

+vote for the amusing quota amount and for competition :)

  • The 1111GB is not available everywhere. Looks like another limited rollout, just like TPG unlimited plan.

    • Seems to be available on all their own DSLAMs, unlike TPG?

Not available on the Telstra DSLAMs, but I don't think anyone has good plans on those because of the port cost.

  • TPG is still the King

  • It's just crazy. This time next year there probably won't be any small player left because they can't compete with the big boys (Telstra, iiNet, Optus and TPG).

    • +1

      Or …

this time next year whirlpool will be full of the people that got bitten when these companies had to turn it down because people were actually using all their allotted quota.

    • there will always be room for internode

    • +1

      I agree

But I think iinet could be in trouble too, they seemed to have struggled to bring out their latest plans, and they are already easily beaten.

The only thing that can save iinet from losing their customers is if they continue to do well to regular people through their tv ads.

IMO internode is going to go bankrupt considering the way they run their business. They are like Apple but there aren't that many fanboys.

      • Agreed, dunno who's driving the 'Node bus, but they're navigating themselves clear outta the ballpark price wise! ;)

  • First time I thought, 111gb, how can this be a gud deal. Then I read again 1111gb…. Doh you can't be serious. Who would use that much data….

    • Well, I could easily use that much data! Right now on Optus Cable I am downloading 7 files at once using a download manager and a Rapidshare premium account.

As I type this, it's running at about 2.4MB/sec… so it takes me about 7 minutes to download a GB of files. Based on that, I could use all of that 1111GB of data in under 6 days ROFL

      • What the hell are u downloading tho. 1111GB of what?

        • +1

My guess is a 1 pixel by 1 pixel white spacer GIF. Again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again ….

          ;-)

      • but its adsl2+ speeds, not cable speeds

  • Also, with these plans - half (if not more) data are counted as Off Peak.

  • Bonzer deal!

  • waiting for amnet response….cmon amnet response to this.

  • I seriously can't think of any real legal use for this much download limit.
Even illegal activities - there's only so much media you can consume!

  • +1

TPG will fire back with a 1112GB plan!

    • I doubt it, I could see a 1234 plan soon though.

  • -1

I don't see why is this a bargain when AAPT and TPG has unlimited for $99 and $75 respectively?

    • +2

AAPT are about to remove their unlimited plan, and TPG only has it available in Sydney at the moment.

  • TPG have a plan for 70$ (or 60$) with shaping to 4 MB.. close enough to unlimited if thats the max speed you can get..

    • I'm pretty sure they shape to 4Mb, not MB's.
BIG difference. 8 times the speed difference. :)

      • +1

        4 Mbps that better?

  • Come on TPG, show us 1222 as we've got 1000 and 1111 now lol.

    • TPG are professional. They will most likely give us 1200GB or 1500GB.

I'm thinking 1500GB as TPG like to show off and act like they can easily handle it.

      • -1

why would you when you get go on unlimited for $75…!

    • it's very good value on paper but again it's limited to certain exchanges only.. just like their 500GB plan.

it seems like a very knee-jerk reaction to introduce these plans which aren't even available yet until next month

also, you must go on TPG's ULL.. which takes much longer to set up (ie downtime) where as iprimus/iinet supports rapid/fast SSS churn

  • -4

Unlimited for $75 is all you need

    • +2

stfu with the TPG unlimited $75 plan already.. i have it but i'm not flaunting it.

u can't compare TPG's $75 unlimited plan because it's available ONLY on some sydney exchanges where as the iprimus/iinet plans are available on all their ADSL2+ exchanges, nationwide.

      TPG fanboi much?

    • Wrong! Love is all you need!!! ;)
