No deal, 99 per month for unlimited 100/40 with free phone.

    • You get foxtel basic with the telstra entertainment package.

        • +10

You should listen to your own advice.. i said foxtel BASIC!

        • +2

Hmm, who needs to learn to read?

The "first 3 months" refers to the Sports HD or Drama and Movies Package.

The rest of the time you still get Foxtel's "Entertainment Package".

        • +1
        • You really make this seem real.

          http://bit.ly/2nyAk0D

    • Have you still got a working link for this deal as I can't see the 100/40 anymore. Cheers

    • Free Telstra Tv and Fox for an extra $41 Just depends if it appeals to you.

      • The Foxtel Entertainment package is $26/month with no contract.
        https://www.foxtel.com.au/get/tv-combos/entertainment.html

So for $15 more that this pack is asking for you get:

        3TB download more (4TB instead of 1TB)
Included International calls to 35 countries (or 17 for mobiles)

Not sure if it is worth it for most people unless they really get way above and beyond 1TB a month.

    • +1

And what about the remaining 75% of the country that doesn't have NBN?

    • It's 100/40? I'm on cable and it's 36/1 unless I pay for speed boost which would give me 100/2.

      • -2

If you receive your connection via NBN it's 100/40

  • Basic foxtel is only worth ~$25

    • This is pushed for the O/S calls inclusions

      • and 3TB more download..

  • I got the entertainment bundle recently as i cant get nbn.. got free speedboost and 10 bucks loyalty discount …

    • Can I ask how you managed that? I could only get the $90 500GB plan minus $10 discount with bonus 500GB but then needed to add cable modem @ $9 p/m and NO speedboost. Other option was to throw in speedboost and no $10 off the same plan (500GB + 500GB) and still need to add $9pm for the modem.

      Thanks in advance

    • I would like to know how you snaffled this too. They refused to offer free speedboost, event if I signed up 2 accounts on 24 month contracts on the $99/month entertainment bundle.

      • You gotta use other accounts amd services you have with them as leverage. . Simply talking to the rep didnt get me anywhere.

        • +3

Simply talking to the rep didnt get me anywhere.

Sleeping with him is a bit extreme but if you got the deal you wanted it's ok I guess.

        • @Maverick-au:
          This is OzBARGAIN!!!

  • How is the speed with the 100/40 plans? Read sometime back that a lot of users were complaining about peak time speeds. I will take the 1TB telstra TV bundle for $99 after I negotiate a deal to get the speed upgrade for free.

    • although its a decent deal, im finding telstra a bit slow during peak times …

    • Ive been getting 89 down and 36 up on FTTP. It slows down at random times but not too much compared to my old ADSL which was unusable during peak. I've only had one outage in 6 months compared to monthly ADSL outages so I'm ahead.

I'm also on the $99 deal and struggle to hit over 500GB out of 1000GB! Now using Netflix and Amazon TV 4K so I'm upping my abuse :)

    • Im on the $99 bundle with foxtel 1tb.

Had some issues with moving, and got the super fast speed boost for free (yet to be activated) + $200 credit for 2 months compensation.

I currently have the first tier speed boost applied on NBN. Experienced lag when streaming movies on my TV wirelessly.

I hope there is a difference when the max speed boost is applied.

  • +1

The $99 bundle is pretty good too. I think that they had the same deal a while back but glad to see it's back on.

You could also probably negotiate a free speed boost depending on who you talk to.

    • +1

The previous $99 was better as it included Foxtel but not calls. They were an extra $15 if you wanted them. not many people use home phones so if you want fox its an extra $21 now

      • +1

I didn't realise with the previous deal that you could add national/mobile calls for $15? I was referring to the deal before the Foxtel/no calls one. Anyway, screw Foxtel.

  • I am currently paying $110 includes unlimited calls (no OS) and 100/40 speed.

  • +3

Apparently the $99 bundle is their "BEST BUNDLE EVER". Yet they have removed foxtel?

    • There are 2 variations of the $99 bundle I think

  • "Hide" is included, is this some sort of code because we'll have to "seek" out Telstra when we need tech support, or is it an actual animal hide? Maybe a cow hide rug or something.

    • ta fixed

      • lol, thanks. Thought it was maybe an error on Telstras end.

        • when i copied and pasted it filled all the gaps with Hide i missed that one

  • Anyone in Hurstville/Mortdale area on Telstra cable? I'm curious what the performance is like, I'm on Optus cable at the moment and it varies from ok to 'oh God just use a pigeon' speed.

    • +2

I have Telstra 100/1 cable in a non-NBN area in Adelaide

FWIW it's usually full speed 12 MB/s other than evenings when it slows somewhat to 9MB/s. As I understand it if many people in your street/area have cable then it will slow down during peak (leat alone what the rest of the internet does). However often it's slightly faster than 100Mbit at around 14MB/s. Upload is always faster than advertised at 2.5Mbit

I'm assuming this deal is still atrocious value compared to every most other ISPs because uploads are metered.

  • I signed up 6 weeks ago for the previous $99 bundle deal (1000gb cable internet and Foxtel) which is still not connected but a technician supposed to be coming around tomorrow for the 3rd time to attempt to get the issue resolved.
I know they have changed my order number several times during this time so not sure where I stand with this offer anymore if they have changed it.
I didn't really want Foxtel, only the faster cable internet, but for an extra $10 per month it seemed a no brainer to go for the entertainment package rather than cable only.
I hope Telstra will still honour my original entertainment bundle application as it seems a better deal than the current deal stated here, but some how, after my dealings with them over the past 6 weeks, I wont hold my breath.

    • If you signed up for a specific package thats what you need to receive. If not, you have every right to ask them to include everything you signed up for. If they can't accommodate you call the telecommunications ombudsman.

    • If they keep cancelling you could try send a complaint it

  • Anyone in Melb signed up to Telstra cable on this or any other Telstra bundle plan and got free speedboost or modem?

I'm finding it really tough negotiating with them as they're not willing to budge on speedboost or throw in the modem for a M or L bundle on 24 month contract. In addition there's the $89 activation fee.

    • That doesn't seem right.
      Keep trying with different people.
I'm not even on a bundle, I'm on standalone cable with my mobile phone on the same account and I get $10 off my mobile and free speed boost (which does nothing)

Although I might add I have been with them for a long time.

You could try get them to throw in the modem and then wait a couple months then ask for a free speed boost.
I find that making requests over the telstra chat 24/7 has more success.

      • I've tried online chat twice and in store once - no luck.

I'm hoping for either on the $80/month 500gb plan with payg calls. The current deal is $89 activation fee, $168 modem fee and $20/month speedboost.

        • have you had any services with them before?

as i said though, maybe sign up and wait a couple of months to request for the speed boost.
i think at minimum they should waive the modem fee.

        • +1

I just joined with the $99 Entertainment bundle on cable and couldn't get them to throw in the speed boost. I am paying for it now.
I tried 3 times on the phone, on chat and in store and no movement. I don't have any existing Telstra services though.
Didn't have much choice. Naked ADSL application blocked due to poor line quality. Could have gone with wireless but my wife doesn't want a mast on our roof.
Ridiculous that I am paying for Foxtel and a phone line I don't even want. I just want internet!

        • @wizzfizz:

I signed up in store and said I wanted the $99 deal but what bonuses could be offered. I was offered full speed and no connection free for free!

You're committing over $2k to them over 24 months so they better look after you! Hard to negotiate after signing though.

I haven't even connected a home phone and never will! I am using the Foxtel PVR though for occasional recording and shows.

        • @MrMaxwell:

Which store? I've tried too, much like wizzfizz. Wondering if they'd be willing to trade "foxtel" for free speedboost. With Netflix and Stan, I prob won't watch foxtel.

        • @bkx3virgin:

          Sydney Flagship store @ 400 George/King St.

  • Just wasted 40 mins of my time trying to get free speedboost. Amazing how many different ways the chat operator got my current bundle wrong. In any case I've never had any luck with it. I'm not willing to pay $20/month extra when I'm not getting the speed I'm suppose to during peak right now.

    • Ditto!!

      Online chat is no better.

      • Mine was online.

        • Apparently better luck with phone chat or in store. I've had neither..

        • @bkx3virgin:

I've tried both before and had no luck. I think they only give it to you if you're on a bad deal to begin with, just to keep you with them. You're still paying for it through the crappy deal.
